Default Haltect and NATS for 350z

Hi everyone,

I am having the dreaded nats proplem, when trying to start the car, the engine turns over but the red LED is on when turing the ignition.

I have a Haltech complete stand alone replacement for the Oem ecu. In Haltech documentation they exclude the immoboliser as something they can control.

So uprev can disable this, i am slightly dissapointed that I dont have the same or better control with a complete stand alone from Haltech.

Can uprev reflash the Haltech stand alone to get rid of NATS, is there anyone out there that has an idea how I can bypass the NATS. My car is now in the tuners shope for over 6 months because of this.

Any help is appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Andrew

If you have Haltech PlugIn PnP, which replaces stock ECU, yes, you have loose ability of the immobiliser because it's part of the stock ECU. Which means your car isn't protected anymore, not that you cannot start it.

Your tuner should look for the problem somewhere else.

Hi,

I am aware that the haltech does not allow control over the Nissan Anti Theft System (NATS), however, when you replace the standard oem ecu with the Haltech, the NATS is still active and working.

From what I have read, UPREV can disable the standared ECU for NATS. The issue is that when starting the car, the LED on the Dash that is connectect to the BCM unit, is on, this means the NATS system is active and either the BCM, the antenna thing for picking up the key signal, or the chip in the key is faulty.

My question remains the same, I am not finding fault with the Haltech but am disapointed that after such a spend I cannot control all the aspects of my 350z, and Uprev have a solution already with a reflash of the standard OEM ECU.

Does anyone know a cost effective manner of disabling NATS if I already have a complete Haltech replacement of the OEM ECU. Can Uprev flash a Haltech... any help please.

Kind Regards,
Andrew

Man, no OEM ECU no NATS. It's simple as that.

I have Haltech PlugIn unit, and yes, there's a constant light on the NATS LED indicator. But engine starts and runs perfectly.

like Tcode said..no stock ECU..no nats. Even more so...if you have a haltech Harness system it bypasses the nats as well even with the stock ECU.

I would look elsewhere. Check for spark, fuel ect.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply, its just weird cause I am sure the LED didnt stay on in the past. I have sent a mail to Haltech for 100% confirmation.

We have checked the spark, there is none. the fuses have been checked, the coils, everything. It just went from starting to no starting in a day.

Thank You,
Andrew

Logging while cranking can tell you why it won't start. Check rpm especially, if you don't see rpm on cranking then check crank position sensor.

I would double check your connection to the battery check your positive cable connection. If it is not snug or real tight the car will act up and will have the no start issue. Just double check connections I fixed my bat problems just by simply snugging up my positive cable to the battery. Haven't had any problems for the past month and a half. Car starts up no probs.
