Tuning after market cams

Tuning after market cams
i was considered on getting new cams for my engine and was wondering if anyone had experience Or can point me in the right direction on how to tune new cams. IGNITION. timing map? Intake cam timing. Etc
any help would be great!

I cant speak for anything but the haltech but tuning your ignition should be pretty straight forward - I believe the VQDE will hit MBT before it knocks. From what I remember from the HPA guys is that you have to guess & check using the variable valve timing map by moving, expanding, contracting the curve/hump within the map to find the sweet spot.
I think (and I've never done this in practice) the 'scientific' way is find out where the engine is making peak torque and move the 'crest' of the vvt curve (within the vvt map) to this point and play with the 'skirts' of the curve ... but Im not 100% sure and would love to hear what more-experienced tuners are doing.

My tuner uses UpRev and swears by Tomei single for na.
