Default Bought used / too lean

Hi let me start this with I am pretty new to the car scene (18) and I just recently found a very nice looking 350z (11k miles, looks brand new, original paint, aftermarket exhaust system, cold air intakes added into engine, static lowered, front bumper, vented fenders etc.) I decided to buy this car as its exactly what I’ve been looking for and the Z’s are my dream car plus it has all the interior and exterior work I would ever want done to it. It now has a check engine light on so I took it to the Nissan dealer for it to be oil changed (old car etc.) and checked out, and I was told I need to stop driving this car. The guy said it was tuned (chipped, dyno’d) and needed to be retuned as it is tuned 1.6 (Apparently the safe eange is .7-1.3) and the fuel - air ratio is way too low, running me a risk of pistons melting or even the engine exploding. I am worried what to do as this is my first “bought” l car I got reccomended to get it re-tuned at Dynosty in Louisville, is this a good idea as i really dont understand much and don’t know what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome and congratz!
Dealerships exist for one purpose - to make your money their money. Before you get overly concerned with just one opinion, how does it run?

What code is causing the CEL to come on? Did the stealership at least tell you that? If not, go get the code read by a local auto parts store and report back.

While I was driving it the car seemed to run fine but i dont want to risk something happening to the engine which would ruin the investment put into the car. I’m assuming (no clue about the previous owner) that based on the cars looks and parts it was some guys show car or something to throw money at. Something I did notice while running the car is that even while stopped the car feels like its not actually stopped and would fly if i lifted off the brake a bit, I’m probably overthinking most problems but I am concerned about what the nissan tech guy said about the tune so i am going to get it retuned.

A/F ratio low means it's running rich.

You can feel if it's running too rich because the car will feel like it's dragging and if severe - it would bog down.

If it pulls hard at all rpm then you are fine.

The tune probably richened it up to 13-13.5 af/r for more power.

Also, no idea what those number's he are saying means at all

That being said the car looks clean af. Enjoy it

A narrowband o2 works under 1v and a wideband works up to 5 I believe.
