Well, about time too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nissan are finally starting to give us an official taste of the 350Z.

They will be displaying the car in the Nissan Village @ The Geneva Motor Show. (No clues as to whether it will be the RHD UK model)

More info (for those of us that are still waiting) at this link

Great stuff.

I was going to go there with a friend from work, but we couldn't get cheap flights or the time off, so I guess I'll be watching some car shows on the TV and browsing websites until the Birmingham car show comes round again :-(

Nice to see some news links appearing for the Zed now though :-)

AND THERE'S A BROCHURE AVAILABLE!!!

Damn, why do they always do that when I'm out of the country

OK, now we're talking - but where's "Loo Paper White" I love that colour & no Baboon Maroon either

Sorry couldn't resist that - the UK names for the are just a bit lame

OK so I'm going to have to change my mind to Chrome Silver, Silverstone, Super Black, or Le Mans Sunset - decisions decisions

GT Pack is a must (interesting that there are only 18's available & we get all the airbags, brembos & HID lights), no mention of Sat Nav though & I do hope that the Bose system is the Mk2 not the US reject.

OK got to play with the colour chart & make some decisions - Over & Out

OK - stop the clock - I've decided...

And the winner is (drum roll)

GT Pack (obviously)
Blade metallic (read Chrome Silver) - Exterior
Alezan Orange (read Burnt Orange) - Interior
Standard 18" Alloys (at the moment)

Hope you approve

I think that I read somewhere that Sat Nav is being installed on all UK machines as standard.

I'm not sure about the Orange interior myself yet... That has yet to be decided... I had hoped for the Red exterior paint job like the car of the month, but Gunmetal is my preferrence at the moment... although, I could always swing to Black again.

OK so I've changed the specification (due to Nissan UK)

350Z GT
Exterior - Blade (Chrome Silver)
Interior - Charcoal Leather (Black)
Rims - 18" Rays

As has been posted elsewhere the 2003 release of Z's will be all GT Packs with 18" Rays, plus the Alezan Orange Leather is only available on Gun Metal, Sunset & Kuro Black.

Enjoy

Some swine has gone into my local Nissan Dealer already and ordered exactly the same spec as I want! Poo, so much for being unique.

Anyway, some price updates...

The 18" RAYS add £1,000 to the bill and the Alzean Orange Leathers add another £350.

PS. Do you think it is worth placing an order with two dealers? The £2,000 deposit is TOTALLY refundable (Nissan rules), and I can just take the first one available... as you can tell... I'm getting desperate... only 400 available to the general public on first release.

You could try the double order thing, but personally I'm sticking by the rules.

By my reckoning, if Nissan are trying to regulate supply & they catch you pulling a sneaky double order scam, it'll only end in

Keep smiling

Fair point... but still still gutted... I was trying to find a way to make sure that at 3:50pm my order goes through in the first set of torders, to increase my chances of a first delivery set.

You're right, need to get as many pennies in interest payments to help soften the blow.

How are you guys financing this? I'm in a delicate situation in that I took a loan out for my ex which she is paying me back in dribs and drabs, which may affect my credit rating. I'm hoping to have about half of it available in cash and the rest through finance and trade-in.

That's a difficult one, how to guarantee that you're in the first batch?

Thinking about it, there are a few options open to you:

1. Pitch a tent on the doorstep of your dealer on Sunday night
2. Bribe your dealer with wads of dosh
3. Quit your job & work for Nissan as a 350Z sales specialist
4. Sleep with your sales rep (hope your reps a woman - ha, ha)

No, seriously, I think that we are all in the hands of our dealers & we've just got to pray that they do their job & look after our interests.

Moneywise, your credit rating thing stinks. Hope that your ex isn't being a cow & using the dribs & drabs payment as revenge. I'm still piling any cash away that I can.

Nah, the ex-thing was me helping her out of a VERY large hole, unfortunately, shortly after that she decided thanks very much, but I've found someone else now c'est la vie. All under control there as far as I can see, though I am paying more than double into the loan repayments in order to get that cleared down as quick as possible This will be adjusted when I gotta pay for the Zed.

Anyway, popped into the dealership today and placed my order, same as my .sig. Wobbled over the Alzean leather, but decided not to based on one of the Japanese Brochure pics he showed me (similar to my order, but with the *light* silver paint job).

Sounds really good teh way Nissan are handling this, we *may* even be sent a model 350Z as part of the deal because we pre-ordered

Also saw a website on the Sales information http://www.nissanimages.com but unfortunately, you need to register, so not tried going any further there.

I really like the Alezan Orange (Burnt Orange) upholstery, but there again I really like White Pearl (Pikes Peak White) exterior.

Unfortunately, we don't get the PPW... & Alezan Orange is not going to be available on the 2003 release with my second exterior colour choice of Blade.

Mind you, I am a little hesitant about the Orange on the Handbrake gaiter & Shift boot - have to wait & see it in real life.

So Charcoal it is. Anyway I can always buy a new set of upholstery for the seats in 2004 from the Parts Department if I get really desperate & want a change.

March 14 & counting
