Too right Rich.......

I think Nissan have dropped a big bollock in how they've handled this week.......we just want to be put out of our misery (to be replaced with joy!!!)

How long can it take to start checking the list?

Even if every dealer pressed the send button twice, how difficult is it to count up to 450 on the list and start ringing at the first name or the dealer the order was placed through to ask if we really wanted 2 in the same colour??????

I don't believe any of us on the UK Forum are likely to have had our orders placed outside the first 10 minutes on Monday.

4 working days for none of us to have had a call is pretty poor.

On performance so far I'd guess that no one from Nissan UK is even aware that this site exists, but if they do post an update to your customers who really care!

Waiting impatiently for normal service to be resumed...Jez

I would tend to agree...

Come on you guys & girls at Nissan GB, reward the faithful...

...check out this site & reward us for keeping the faith

For the records, then...

I'll have UK VIN 001, richZ 002, Jez 003 - See, how simple is that?

I take it all back (well nearly!)

My dealer has rung me this morning with a confirmed order.

Said there was a confamatory email there this morning from Nissan UK re my order. So I hope that's it. No specific delivery date (just Q4).

I am going to go down today anyway just to make sure!

Hopefully I (and we all) will get official confirmation and date from Nissan next week

Went for Kuro Black in the end.

Hope you guys all get that call today

Talking I'm happy happy happy

I got my call this morning

My order is order number 168.

I will receive it in Q4 2003 - no specific dates available yet, but this probably means November.

The word is that all of this years allocation went in 16 minutes, and anyone ordering a car now has a ONE YEAR waiting period!!

Don't worry too much yet, sometimes emails get stuck temporarily, and then just appear out of the blue, so to speak.

Fingers crossed for you Veilside, or you know what you gotta do

Angry

I'm totally hacked off with Nissan....good luck and well done to those of you that have been given some sort of date 'Q4!!!!'.
This whole cloak of secrecy has been a complete joke especially after sending out invites to purchase a car from the first batch..!!!
It puts huge doubts in my mind about Nissans follow up customer care.....just think if anything ever went wrong with it....nightmare me thinks...!!!

All my pent up excitement has all fizzled away, I'm certainly not waiting a year for one and if I don't get a decision Monday I'll be getting that 2 grand cheque back.....just been onto Merc UK and the new SLK comes out mid 2004 which looks like the new SL so I think I'll transfer the deposit onto that.

Hope to see you all on the road one day, I'll flash my lights and wave. nobody else will have one so I know it can only be you guys..

Don't be despondent!!!

If you follow through and decide to become a UK 350Z owner, we have 6 months (min) to lobby Nissan UK about what their customers are, want and need. This is a crucial market for them.

Primera or Maxima/Terrano is not premium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure it seems like the chaos theory applies to thier business approach right now, but a Merc (or anything within UK price range Vs 350Z) is going to pale........

Sure the new pointy SL looks good, but Merc are past masters at pre-launch hype....Nissan have generated £14M quid on pre-orders, with a low key approach... I reckon Merc will want £3-4,000 deposits for an new SL.

Stick with it, and if you get confirmation , lets all work together as Nissan UK's key "focus group" (yawn) to make sure we live the dream Nissan is trying to sell..........

Get your dealer to show you their internal guide...the marketing boys have us down as "enthusiasts" or "ego-driven buyers" (new/different).

Pick a category and make them deliver what you as a consumer want.

(M..Sorry late night rant, but once we know who the genuine buyers are I really belive we can help Nissan UK understand what their future UK customer base wants.

V tired and emotional....Jez

Little bit of an update, guys...

Spoke with (=read: ranted at) my dealer, who seems confident that they will have an allocation.

If you're sitting comfortably I'll begin...

I placed my wad of crisp, banded £20 notes with my dealer on March 11th (The day the invite landed, so to speak & because I was otherwise disposed of on the 17th). I ran through the specifications that had been released to my dealer, at the Product Briefing, the previous day & made all the decisions that needed to be made.

Now it gets a little bit freaky... the dealer than faxed the order to their Head Office Administration Department for input on to the Nissan Intranet on March 17th @ 3.50 - I am told (& am praying, that this is the case) that the guy/girl was perched at the terminal with the orders ready to go @ 3.50 & that they were put through (bear in mind that I was the first person to flash the cash at my dealers).

So the line of thought (& my only link to sanity) is this: My confirmation (along with a load of others) is sitting on a PC somewhere within the Head Office Administration Department (who don't work Saturdays), waiting for them to dish them out to the dealers on Monday.

Still Waiting

Still Hoping

P.S. Muchas - Hope you have better luck with MB dealers than I have - MB customer service stinks, at least the Nissan dealer calls me back with updates

Thanks Jez for the encouragement to hold on and keep the faith, I'll be giving it one last chance till the end of play Monday as it appears nobody has definate confirmation....ie build dates etc

Maybe our eyes were wide open and Mr Nissan saw the look on our faces when we saw press shots of the car and so 'hand picked' a couple of hundred of people that he thought had the dosh or just to get them out of their current car to spite the other manufactures....!!! shameful thought, but we all know how cut throat it is out there.

RichZ.....I totally know about MB dealers first hand as per our earlier threads but............will they be out done by Mr Nissans team of..*******

Fingers crossed everyone for Monday.......

M.

Well guys.......the news came that I didn't want to hear....

Call today....

Dealer:Good and bad news M..
M: Oh...that doesn't sound good!
Dealer: Well you have a definate order placed...(sounding pleased with himself)..
M: And the bad news..?
Dealer: Well, erm...its Q1 2004, wich means anytime untill March..
M: MARCH 2004.....are you serious...!!!
Dealer: Yes I'm as confused as you are...
M: Do I get my deposit back untill that date gets closer as 2 grand for a year isn't on really especially as I still don't have a build date and that could slip further....
Dealer: (silence) erm No......we will still be looking after the money..(silence again)
M: That's not really on is it....
Dealer: hurridly...well everyone is in the same position..and they know they can sell all they can make..
M: ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I'll ring back when I've had time to think it through...
Call ends sharpish...

Conclusion...will be getting the cheque back in the first post.
Totally hacked off and the worst experience of trying to buy a new car...

Nissan isn't for me.....

So Long new friends, this is my farewell as I'm bowing out.....it's been interesting chatting to you all over the past few weeks, I hope all works out for you lucky few that have secured a mota.
Enjoy it to the maxxxx.

It's a shame that your experience of one dealer has sullied your view of the whole of the Nissan Group. They and Nissan have just lost some valuable pennies, I'm sure they won't tell HO why you cancelled.

Good Luck and let us know what you do eventually get.
