BOSE will be sorted
I contacted BOSE Europe a few weeks ago & expressed my concern at all the problems experienced in the US with the sound system (Boomy bass & AudioPilot problems).
Here's the response (sounds promising), although it doesn't say what changes have been made...

We are sorry for the long delay, but we are happy to let you know, that in all the cars that are and will be imported to Europe, the initial concerns about the sound quality was considered.
The Sound System of those vehicles is altered to fulfill the high expectations of our customers.

I would bet that the only changes to the Bose system for Europe will be the new preamp to correct the Audio Pilot problem. The emails they are sending to US customers says that they are still working on the problem of less than acceptable sound quality.

I've sent another email to Bose - to try & find out what modifications have been made & I'll keep you all posted

I understand that the Pre-Amplifier & the AudioPilot function has been changed in the US, but customers are still experiencing problems.
Any detailed information as to the changes made for Europe would be much appreciated.
Also my question regarding connecting a DVD player (sound output) to the BOSE system has not been answered.
Is there an AUX input to the system (suitable for DVD playback), would I need a pre-amplifier or modulator, or could I route the sound output via the inputs normally used by the Navigation system in the USA (Terminal 24, 30, 31 & 32 of the white connector M39 on the rear of the Head Unit)? .
I ask these questions, because my Media Installer has not yet worked on a Nissan 350Z
