Hi All,

Some of you may remember me I was one of the first regulars on this site along with a hand full of very excited car mad people like myself.....I thought of us as the chosen few (because of what we drove!) hand picked from hundred of wad waving fanatics eager to get our hands on what was thought of as a rare chance to own a rather special car.
Indeed Nissan got the world buzzing and cash tills ringing in the US only to make our mouths water even more....then the big day, we all dashed from work..(ahem..long dinner hours!) with our wonker bar preferencial tickets to the dealers. Some of us bowed down and gave in to the pressure of buying the RAYS alloys just to get a car this year....I refused on principle and therefore missed out on the first batch and was told I may get a car by next March which was a year on...!!!!!
Anyway cutting an even longer story shorter... I got my money back no problem from the very appologetic dealer who was on my side all the way.

WELL - yesterday I got a phone call from Mr Nissan asking me if I want a car November'ish because they have decided to allocate another 350 cars to the first batch for this year..!!!!
Can you believe it.....talk about hype and then flood the market, I bet the boat is anchored just off Portsmouth as we type...
All interested parties on the waiting list not yet allocated a build slot/date will be getting an invitation pack through the post any day making a formal offer on the new batch of cars.

Sorry peeps but I still have a bitter Nissan taste in my mouth from the first experience....plus, I wobbled on the build quality..I want a 24hr test drive before they convince me they have winner on the world stage.

Looks like this is true - just spoken to my dealer and he confirmed another batch of cars will be released in November - looks like we have been lied to big time.

He believes (the dealer) that these cars will have to have Rays and GT pack as well however.

I can't believe it... part of the attraction on getting this car has been to have it as quite exclusive over the first few months... ah bugger, not happy about this at all... I didn't want the RAYS, but ordered them to get the car this year....

Sadly (se the thread on www.350zuk.com) it is true, Nissan have announced another 390 350Z's will be coming into the country in November/December - they have also stated that November is more likely for the initial 450 cars. Basically I think all 840 will be on the same boat so we appear to have paid our £2K premium for nothing right now.

Well peeps - did we all get a nice packaged invite for the second batch..!!! well they still have the neck to still say 'if you would like to be lucky enough to have the car this Q4 then you'll still got to order the rip off wheels'...!!!

Do they really have that many left over from the American market that they are making it compulsary for the 'soft' UK market...!!

Smart money is on those who wait another month and get the car/spec they want..

It just gets to me... ...!!!!

Has Nissan UK settled on which model / options will be available for your domestic market yet?

In Australia we only have 2 models - the Touring and Track:

Touring with 17" wheels, heated leather seats, 6 airbags, 6 stacker CD and Traction Control.

Track gets 18" wheels (not Rays), heated leather seats, 6 airbags, 6 stacker CD, VDC and Aero kit.

You cannot get VDC on the Touring model, nor factory / Rays 18" wheels, but you can purchase the front and rear spoilers, but not the underbody diffuser.

Sat Nav available on both.

So how can you configure your Z?

 

Opps, forgot to mention the Brembo brakes only available on the Track model.
240W Bose is standard on both models.
No fabric seats available for either model.

 

I'm not best placed to answer this at the moment, but from memory.

Two models, base and GT.

GT has 7 speakers instead of 6, Cruise Control & Electrically adjustable seats over the base model ( I think that it right ).

Both come with 18" wheels and Brembo's.

The only option at present is the RAYS or not RAYS choice... to get the car this year, you have to have the GT Pack with RAYS - an additional £3,500 over the base model.

We have now found out that we can buy accessories (body kit, etc.) from NISMO when it is launched... these are available for both models, no discrimination that I am aware of.
