Friday's food wasn't that great, but the pizza and brownies on Saturday were pretty good!

I gave the pizza a pass, I'm used to NY pizza up here so it would not be fair
The portions are just too small for the dinners, it's better to bring your own food and BBQ

the food was horrible this year. Come on, $20 for a cold hamburger or $20 for some not so great pizza? I understand that some of the money goes towards other stuff but there's no reason you can't do some kind of catering for $10 a person. I'm not sure if I'll register next year and from I heard at dinner it seemed like a lot of people felt the same way. The rest of the event was great but dinner was a waste. Maybe have a seperate price without dinners if it's going to be food like that.

The food wasn't all that great but it didn't really matter to our cabin considering the food we cooked

That has always been our sore spot. Fontana has closed the ability to allow outside caterers onsite. We are stuck with them. and BTW the pizza on satuday was ~$10.50/head, that is what they charge us, and the burgers/chicken sandwich on Friday was ~$13.00/head, so for each registration of $60 $~23.50 went towards food, tshirts also went up this year for us. The good news of all oof this is that we are looking at a potentially very large donation to charity this year.

AS far as moving forward with food for next year, we as always, are trying to find that compromise that will make most folks happy. It is a challenge that we have worked on for 6 years, and we are chipping away at it.

If the first 5 years, my plate has been iffy at best, this year, I will say at least it wsa tasty, simple, but tasty. I would like to offer filet or trout or someof the other tasty things FVR has to offer, but if you have eaten in thier resturaunt then you know thay are proud of thier food, then they add the service fee on top of it for us.

Amen to that ... I hate that it cost ZdayZ so much per head for sub-par food, but I'm still OK with the total cost to register and all. I kind of wish we could suppliment with Pot Luck food since we have some killer chefs in the group.

Anyway, I feel I got a hellova great deal on the weekend. I'm ready to sign up for next year.

Exactly... for all the events and things given away, the food is the last thing that's on my mind. $60 isn't much of anything considering the time that's put into the event by the staff.

For a whole week of vacation for me and the GF, and driving up all the way from South Louisiana, it was a pretty cheap trip overall.

I agree, this was my 3rd year at zdayz and the best one yet. I would almost prefer some type of cookout or potluck to the food we had though. I know there's some great cooks out there and if we all pitched in we could have some good food.

I agree on the potluck aspect, If we took the money that was put to per head and put that towards food we could cook ourselves, that would equate to much better tasting food. Rent out a huge trailer grill and have some grill chefs cooking HOT burgers and maybe some steaks fish, hell anything that can go on a grill.

Its not like we were served with real plates. Dinner mine as well of been outside.

But I wont complain too much about the food. Try eating food in the deserts of Iraq with dust and sand all in your food. The dinner was much better than that. I thank god that I was able to enjoy the event this year and not back in the desert. I cant say that for next year though. Hawaii then to Afghanistan here I come, wish I could make next years events.

I know it will be a blast.

Here is a pic I found of my car.

Hraes ftw ...

Thanks for all the beer and food. Z days increased 10 folds because of your cabin.

I'm still lulz over the cop stopping and saying the music was to vulgar. And the guy that started to break dance on the front porch.

WIN MOTORSPORTS was robbed in beer pong.

Now jeff back to owning some nooobsssss.

Hells yeah...

Maybe they can have an ironing workshop for the ladies too? You know, to keep them busy with stuff to do while we're driving on the dragon.

ironing, cooking, and cleaning workshops. Maybe some knitting too?
