I ordered some resonated test pipes, which should be here in a few days, and decided I'd do a before and after video. Right now, the car has a JWT Popcharger, Motordyne 5/16" spacer, MREV2, UR Crank Pulley, Intense Motorsports Y-Pipe (Nismo copy), and Nismo Exhaust.
hey ur gas tank seems open. was it? (1:11 time on vid)
nice vid
Yep, I had my friend make a couple of passes for me so I could hear the exhaust in person outside the car, and he hit the gas cap button when he was fumbling for the TCS button lol.
Sounds good, but I figured it'd be a little louder than that. Maybe it is in person.
It definitely is in person. It's nice and deep, sounds totally different outside the car than inside. Inside sounds nearly like stock, but outside sounds MEAN.
Does sound good. Did you have the MREV on before or after the exhaust? Which of the 2 mods did you notice better butt dyno gains on?
I actually had an Injen TD exhaust first, then got the MREV2, then swapped exhausts for the Nismo. I'd get the exhaust honestly. I have a 5/16" spacer as well, and the MREV2 really isn't necessary WITH the spacer. On the non-REVUP engine, you only need to do one or the other, not both. I'll probably be taking off my MREV2 and selling it soon in fact.
are you sure you want to put in test pipes? It totally changes the sound of the beautiful nismo...its a love hate relationship wtih the new sound.
No, I'm not sure haha. I absolutely LOVE how my car sounds right now, but I'm curious to see what the test pipes will do. They were $100 and I've done the install a few times, so it'll only take an hour and a half or so to take them off again if I hate the sound. I'll probably be doing the install this weekend, so I"ll hopefully get some sound clips up this next week to compare.
i had the cat-back nismo with test pipes. it was way louder than what you have in the video. it's all about personal preference. if you like to be heard all the time, then get the test pipes. i switched to HKS Dual HI-Power Ti because i didn't like to be heard at every step i made, you get the deep growl when you get on the gas hard.
Thanks for all the compliments guys. I don't have any dyno #'s yet. I was actually thinking about hitting the next local dyno day that I hear about, just for ****s and giggles.
