I have a Nitro powered one. I wonder if it would work the same way? I think I would need different tires though.

the cars are all electric and 4WD. we used a smoke emitter mounted to the chassis to make the smoke trails.

the video was made at socal raceway in orange county, ca.

the cars use drift specific tires made by yokomo but most people just use abs that is cut and mounted to all 4 wheels.

nitro cars, due to their heavy weight and relatively slow throttle response, are really difficult to drift. we've been doing this for about 4 years now and started off in parking lots. after a while we picked up sponsorships from yokomo, tamiya, and other companies.

it is such a small niche and so few people do it so we do our best to try and get more people involved by doing a lot of shows and having drift competitions.

our last competition was at super autobacs last month.

you can always visit our site www.groovydrift.com and browse around.

we'll be at formula D at irwindale in october and again at D1 in november.

if you have any questions about it feel free to pm, ask here, or join the forum.

take cares!

I've had my Nitro car sitting on the shelf for about 2 years. I may have to dust it off, and take it out in the PL sometime soon. How long do the electric cars run for? I know mine on WOT runs about 10 mins, unless I put some more fuel in the tank.

we use brushless motors because of their durability and long runs times.

because of the demos and comps we do we use high capacity 3300-4700mah batteries that last a good 45 minutes or more.

we're now using li-po batteries which last several hours. fun stuff.

I have a HPI RS4 3 EVO (Nitro) and they are a blast! However, I have mine lightened a bunch and have done numerous things to it. I ended up making aluminum lower control arms since I kept snapping them when i would drift into a wall (it gets boring drifting unless you make it challenging). I ended up venting the flywheel also and lightening it a bit among some other things.

Now I have switched mine to a drag car with a solid rear axle, locked diff, 1/8 scale wheels (looks like a tubed muscle car with just enough room between the 2.5" wide wheels for the diff), RWD only, modified transmission housing and a .32 engine going in soon.

Nice car and good vids!

Thumbs up

Cool to run by this thread. Maybe you could help me out. I've been looking for a Z body for a while for my Traxxis 4-Tec electric 190mm. I can never tell what will fit on what. I found this body on ebay:http://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Works-Nissan...ayphotohosting
Here's another if doesn't work:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Hot-Works-Nissan...ayphotohosting

I really like the hot works design, but not sure if will fit.

My specs are:

Length: 17.652" (448)
Front Track: 6.89" (175mm)
Rear Track: 7.05" (179mm)
Height: 4.375" (111mm)
Wheelbase: 10.157" (256mm)
Wheel Diameter: 1.875" (47.5)

Thanks!
