Has anyone bought a car from carmax? They seem like they make it a really simple process, but maybe a little too expensive. They do give you a pretty fair price for your car if you sell it to them though. They gave me 19.5k last winter for my 03 Z.

 

LOL, it is a great commercial....but Z's do have child seat anchor points!

as far as carmax goes, I'd never buy a car from there. They give you however much any other dealer will give you, only they won't negotiate a cent off the purchase of any of their cars, which are usually priced the same as most dealers asking prices....only dealers will deal.
That and their "warranty" means you have to get it fixed there at carmax, and their service dept. can take days just to get an appointment and weeks to get anything fixed.

The Carmax warranty does NOT require you to have your car warranty service only at Carmax.

 

I just saw this commercial and god I couldnt decided whether to flame the commercial for duct taping a child seat to the top of a Z or praise it for being orginal and funny!

BTW I got my Z at carmax last dec, they definitely made the process very easy and their sales guys seem to know the basics on all models...I did my research thoroughly before I got my z though, so i knew what i was getting into. In the end, I ended paying $21.4 for an '03 Performance with 23k miles on it; it had a very clean title, one owner, no accidents! there were a couple of things that they overlooked in there "120 point inspection" including brakes and the the trunk hydraulics...but they are were more than willing to repair everything at no cost! Also they dinged my driver door and didn't take responsibility...pissed me off at first, but its not that bad!
