Default UR Crank Pulley Impressions/ Soon to come dyno results

Ok so i have waited a very long time for this part and i finally had it installed Saturday. Wanted to drive on it in a couple differnet drivig situations before i made a review. And here is my consensus. Do not waste your money on these pulleys. They honestly did not do anything, and I mean anything. Doens't feel like it pulls any harder and the car didn't even rev faster like everyone said it would. Now my header dyno will act as my baseline for these and i'm goign to redyno this tuesday at technosquare and see the dyno "gains" these produce. They might have produced like 1 whp or something very minimal because I feel absolutly nothing. I was however expecting results becasue after holding the OEM pulley and the UR one......huge difference in weight and theoretically I should have felt gains. Not even the placebo effect of these made me feel anything Anyway going to post dyno sheets close to 6 o'clock on Tuesday in the evening. Hope this review helps.....

Thanks for the "butt dyno" impressions and review. Looking forward to seeing the dyno results.

HAHA would you rather I lie to you and tell you its amazing and gains 100 hp? I'm pretty sure you would be more disappointed that way....
But maybe you will have different results with your 6mt compared to my 5AT. Just post your impressions on this page when you get em or start a new thread.

i will. It's going on early this coming week. I doubt that i will have better results than you. Whether 6MT or 5AT would not matter if you ask me. I will dyno again in the middle of the month.

I'm surprised you didn't notice any difference in throttle response or something like the engine revving up easier.

Realistically though, 5whp or so that these pulleys free up should not be noticeable by "butt-dyno."

And that goes for any mod that makes on the order of 10 rwhp or less. Given that a stock z will make a sbout 230 rwhp, and a stock ZR will make about 260, 10 rwhp is less than 5% change, and no-one is going to feel a 5% difference.

Too bad it's not an underdrive crank pulley.

if its 5whp gain i think that it is worth it...the hr motor is already a well designed motor so might as well get as much power as you can out of it with bolt on modifications...but will see how the dyno goes

On my old setup i had 290.9whp with the reflash and after i got it tuned i had 295.9whp. that differnece of 5whp i FELT but with this addition i really am sad to say i didn't feel anything. This leads me to believe taht i won't get more than 1 whp out of it. I'd love to get a full 1.1whp so i could have 300whp though

Okay, let's make bets what the HP after reflash is going to be. I'm saying 314.4 HP.

Sucks the pulley isn't as great as you thought it would be, but I hope the dyno proves you wrong. I hope is as reliable as the stock pulley, because I would hate to see something happen to your car or engine engine because there was a defect present, through the manufacturer.

Cheers.

Hey i just got my pulley on the car. Man it was hard to remove the stock pulley. This thing gets soooooooooo tight that you cannot even imagine. However, My buddy and did it. I think the car feels a lot snappier, esp when the rpms rise up. I think that the car has gained something. How many whp/wtq i cannot tell. But it is a bit more responsive.

I'm gald you felt resutsl but as for me it feels like someone went to the bank, and withdrew $300 while pretending to be me and the money went poofthhh.
Can't wait for my dyno toamrrow though and i hope i can prove myself wrong about these pulleys.
