FP Exclusive 1st: The VQ35HR Dissected
O well J, i guess i will miss her
As for the exhaust my buddy works as a tech for FORD and he and his boss are cool enough to allow me to use an empty bay and tools on sat's. So the lift and tools won't be a prob. I figure about 45 min to install.
You guy's think i could fit the exhaust inside the Z, i would love to take a road trip to FORGED to pick up the exhaust and introduce myself.
Anyway J, keep us up to date on the stero stuff and i can't wait for the new VID!
Cheers

They're prob dynoing now!! It's a reaaally hot day though. POST RESULTS ASAP GUYS!!
I wanna see if the Stillen airbox is worth it when u already have exhaust mods...also what the NA cams do....Im hoping to see at least 280rwhp on the dyno dynamics.

I have video of the best run. I will try and put it together today. The motor had 743 miles on the car when we started dynoing today. It left the dyno with 756 miles. We did not drive the car prior to the dyno runs.
We started at about 3:00 in the afternoon. The car did well. With both the stillen airbox and the cams the car reached 274 rwhp. We did not see a lot of gains at first until the car was ran on the dyno for a while and we had installed the stillen airbox. I think the ECU was learning and that the motor does better once it gets hot. I still think the cams added most of the gains; however it was hard to prove with the way we dynoed the car. If we would have had time I would have liked to pull off the stillen airboxes again to try running the cams.
I believe the ECU tends to learn with time. Since my car has been with a dead battery for the last couple of months. I am thinking that the ECU will benefit from putting a couple of hundred miles on the car with the new mods.
I am going to finish stereo install next week and try to get some miles on her in the next two weeks and try the dyno again.
I did take it for a little spin after the dyno runs to see people's reaction to the car. It was quite entertaining. With the 10 inch wheels on front it changed the steering and you could really feel the road. Nice to drive the car after 4 months.
I wanted to thank my sponsors -- Sam @ GT Motorsports, Mike @ Stillen, and Sharif @ Forged Performance -- for the parts and time they have given to this project.
Couple of pictures. Motor and a pic right before we took it for a drive. Sandy was nice enough to pose with the car.

J?
The pic with sandy on the dyno seems a bit different, is the dash still out? It looks funny in there. And as mentioned above, what's up with the camera onder the hood?
Can't wait for the vid

274rwhp....thats about roughly 29Xrwhp on a dynojet. Not bad. Your prob right about the ECU needing to learn the mods, and Im sure it was a very hot day. Hmm...wonder how many ponies just the Stillen Intake added? Cant wait to see the next dyno.
so this was on stock ecu, no tuning of any kind? i didn't know u can do a cam swap with out tuning, that tells me that 300-310ish on a dynojet is possible with cam and a tune (and exhaust obviously, maybe intake too)
whats the retail on these cams?
whats the retail on these cams?
