im new here and have not introduced myself properly but i put the nismo CIA's onto my nismo 350 and there is plenty of clearence. millimeters worth, but still plenty.

damn, from the looks of it, you definitely will need to take off your nismo strut... you already have to take off the a/c line mounts under your driver side airbox to slide the heat shield in, but it also looks like the fitment will be really close.. I don't know about your idea bout installing washers to raise your strut, i think i'd rather cut the heatshield.. one is a structural support the other is just a fancy heat shield. Good luck on the install though. btw that perforated looking line is where the metal starts. Everything above that perforation / stitching is soft hollow rubber made to compress when the hood is closed for a seal..
edit: just read the above nismo owner having nismo cai.. so i guess it will fit, but installing you probally need to take off the strutbar

yeah the nismo strut has to come off for sure for the install. you cant even change a drop in filter without taking it off
