dynoing an intake is, well, useless

an intake shootout? to show what? who makes the most hp while sitting still with a hood open? How on earth is that telling you anything

Just like on the DE, the intake is the absolute least important part of the car...don't get stressed out over which performs best, none of them will truly amount to anything meaningful

I'm used to it...alot of what I post falls on deaf ears - people believe what they want, whether it's true or not

Why do manufacturers/retailers sell anything?? Because someone out there will buy it!!! Are you guys too young to remember "Pet Rocks"???

It's pretty hard to talk an Entrepreneur out of packaging $100 worth of materials into a box and selling it for $400...

at a certain point in the performance game, an intake very well might be a beneficial thing

I've yet to see any worthwhile intake for the HR though

one breather mod usually doesn't do much...an intake alone, an exhaust alone, a header alone...

but couple an intake, spacer, cams, headers, hiflo cats/tp, exhaust WITH a tune ie FCON/Re-flash...then you'll have great gains.

one mod is only one piece of a puzzle.

like i've said in just about every intake post. I and ALOT of others buy them because they sound cool. Don't EVER EVER EVER EVER believe anyones BS if they tell you their intake gives them gains on their Z's.

Hey Adam, how is Strong Island these days ?? I lived in Valley Stream a few years myself, South Fl is home now, no looking back at snow..Anyway, I am sure I will get some gains between my HK$ Hi-Ti exhaust and a intake..I am going to Greddy TT the thing soon anyway, but until then a few horses are better than none !!

The only way to prove an intake's worth is on the drag strip.

Every time you remedy a restriction, something else becomes the new weakest link. As the exhaust, TP, and HFC dyno numbers come in it seems like the the exhaust system has quite a few power inhibiters. It might be interesting to see the what the intakes do when added to a car with a free flowing exhaust...Still, I bet a K&N drop in and an airbox mod will end up being the the way to go (unless you need the sound).
