I'm with you on this one.

And this is the reason the Z's aftermarket will only start to get good when these cars depreciate down to a price were younger buyers can pick them up. The 'can do' attitude goes pretty far.

Ok, you wanttechnical info, I can get you info.... If you replace the motor mounts, long block assy, hood, transmission, clutch,EFI harness, ecu,Bcm, headers,MAF, clutch master and slave cinlinder, cam and crank shaft sensors,IPDM, and new welds in the chassy it can be done. Would you like a quote prices and part numbers or should I stop wasting my time right here?

From the responses I am seeing. With what is involved. The answer I can come up with for the person who started the thread.. Just because the 08 and 04 both say 350z dsn't mean its that easy to swap. This ain't like putting a k-series motor from honda into an older civic hatch....

That help??

OP, listen to these guys when they tell you. I understand you have a good deal running on this block that you have been offered, however with the money you are looking at, get a built motor throw go with an F/I of your choice and go from there.... just my .02...but good luck with your decision and let us know how it works out for you.
