Wish I would have read this thread earlier. We have a Murrays Speed and Customs down here in South Fla, and I believe they will ship Amsoil TSO right to you. They have a web site that you can order on. I go to them for my TSO and I like it the best so far.

Correct. According to our manuals, 30. But again, it really depends on application. If you plan on tracking your car that day then you could go as high as a 50 weight. A really good thread to read is here.

At least read the first page or two so you can get some oil basics. Resolute did an awesome job of putting it together.

Yeah, I just get it directly from AMSOIL. I paid to be a preferred customer. It helps, but still cost me like $10/qt. Mainly because of shipping. That is why when I see German Castrol at Autozone, I hoard all of it.

They maybe superior, but it isn't recommend in the owners manual from Nissan. So if he ever had a warranty issue, and Nissan found out he ran that oil, he would have trouble getting the engine covered.

Any dealer can. I could too since I am a dealer, but I am not a sponsor so I don't advertise or sell here just to my local Z club.

As my original post stated -- I do not get what you guys do not understand about the phrase " I have heard". I've been talking to a few local engine builders and that was their input on that matter. They were not supporting any one oil brand over another (aside from mentioning their amsoil experiences). I've been told to use Motul/Royal Purple. If my original post didn't appear to a subjective/opinionated statement... then I don't know how to rephrase it so you guys can better understand. It's already a very subjective thread. Their are people out their that still swear by dino oil vs synthetic (with good results). Some people change their oil religously while others wait for 5k intervals (I change my oil at 2-2.5k miles).

The point is don't spew BS when you or anyone else knows that "heard" statement isn't even true.

Engine builders are the last people you want to talk too. Most of the time they don't know squat about oil itself and just build engines and put any oil in them.

RP is one of the worst oils you can use. Do a search on here or BITOG forums. It's a overhyped oil.

Castrol 0W-30 for me starting @ 9k miles. Is it better than Amsoil or Mobil1? Is starting it @ 9k miles better than starting it at 6k? No one knows 100%, but I made the decision after extensive reading and self introspection

My car is coming up on its 10k oil change and I will be switching over to full synthetic then. This oil research is driving me crazy!

these are pretty much my only 2 options

SSO Signature Series 0W-30 100% Synthetic Motor Oil
or
ASL SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil

any help would be appreciated
I'd go with the SSO over the ASL, appears to be a much nicer formula for the VQ with better average UOA results.

I think you meant it the other way around? The 0W oil is much better for cold months than a 10W oil.

The pot calling the kettle black? Care to substantiate your claim that RP hurts your engine seals?
