Default 07/08 Aftermarket Clutch?

Has anybody updated their 07/08 with an aftermarket clutch? I'm interested in your feedback/experience, if you have! I'm looking at a JWT clutch/flywheel combo fom one of our sponsors:

The warranty for wearable parts, including the clutch, is only 1 year or 12K miles -- and I'm not particularly fond of the stock clutch.

i know i have read about the 03-06 clutches fitting the 07-08's just not the flywheels. well just to make sure because i am about to spend a good amount of money on this but will the Exedy carbon twin plate clutch for the 03-06 fit my 07 with the stock flywheel.

i am prepping for a twin turbo set up and i would prefer a clutch that can take a whole lot of horse power with the stock flywhel than a clutch/flywheel packege tht can only take 500 or so horsepower.

my goal in the long run is around 650 or 700 wheel and i know that Exedy carbon twin plate clutch can handle more than 800 wheel.

what do you guys think. thank you very much.

I would love to get a twin disc after driving a few 11 sec evo's this weekend with them in it. I am not sure what route I am going but if the older clutches fit then I am all for it. I asked nissan last week and they said my whole trans would be voided but is that true?

screw it if my trans messes up then i will have my race shop slap the stock one back in first. either that or i will just hope they have a racing tranny out for our cars.

so if anybody else could give me input on my first post i would really appreciate it please give your own opinions. thanks again.

Why would it void warranty when the clutch isn't even covered under warranty?

BTW Zimo did you get the JWT clutch and flywheel?

Yes, I have the flywheel and clutch. Regarding the warranty I dont know. I know that wearable parts of your car are not covered by the warranty, but i dont know if it goes as far as the clutch/flywheel. I really dont care anymore. My car's warranty has been voided out already.

Unless you have the extended warranty, i would definitely consider an aftermarket clutch with a lightweight flywheel. It changes the car drastically.

yeah i was just responding to another comment. my car has been voided of most if not all warrenties so im not worried about that. but i must be blunt and ask.

if have intentions of high horsepower what are you going to do. JWT clutch/flywheel or the Exedy carbon twin plate clutch with stock flywheel.
money not being an issue between the two. lol

Just spoke to my dealership and they said that if the clutch is replaced with a racing clutch it won't void the tranny unless it is a racing clutch, and there is obvious abuse to the vehicle. So don't take my word for it every serivice manager is different but that is what I was told. I think I am going to to upgrade.

Never mind the twin plate clutches wont work because you have to use the flywheel that comes with the twin plate clutch. so it looks like for any 07-08 z owner that plans on turbo charging there car will just have to wait on a twin plate clutch/flywheel package to handle the high horsepower (if they want a good streetable clutch that is) because that JWT wont be able to handle the power.

I suppose if you are N/A and don’t plan on boosting then that JWT clutch will wont great.

I mean you would really think the demand for that would be pretty high since greddy and other(s) are going to start releasing tt kits soon.

So I guess people who want high horsepower in there 07/08 Z will still have to wait for a clutch that can handle it.

I would think with twin turbo kits coming out soon that the demand for twin and even triple plate clutches would be pretty high. But I guess that’s not on anybody’s mind.

I for one will not be wasting my money on the JWT if it can’t handle the Greddy TT kit. So I guess I will just keep on waiting and waiting for anything worth while to come out for this freaking car.
