its voided, the thing is that a dealership would never know unless they checked the code on the ECU so...
Edit: or if you put a big ricey technosquare ECU sticker on your windshield

you cant really reset the technosquare tune. you would need someone like technosquare to reprogram back to stock. the ecu reset that the dealership does is not the same. this tune is written into the eeprom of the ecu and doesnt just get reset

It will void it.... If you tell them
Will it affect my Nissan warranty if I bring it into the dealership?
We do not touch the diagnostic part of the program, so if the dealer connect their scan tool to your car, they can't tell if your ECU is reprogrammed or not unless you tell them so.
search......... cmon people..

i really dont understand the whole warranty thing. how often does a dealer show up at your front door to test your ecu for a flash? considering many of you will probly go to a track at one point, thats just stupid. all a dealer needs to do is see you at the track and write down your license plate to void your warranty. so youll go and risk your warranty without any chance of hiding it, but you wont risk it by doing something that they really cant even find out about? makes sense.........

They (the Dealer) have to be able to prove that the modification was the cause of the problem, if they can't they have to still do any repairs under the warranty. It's the magnuson moss act

Hope this helps

yeah but anything you do to the ecu can be considered to void your warranty. that act only applies to them honoring certain parts of your warranty, meaning you still have a warranty before and after, but if you have some oily k&n filter on they can say thats what caused the maf to go bad. not that they wont cover your axle snapping for no reason. what they are afraid of is that if you dont follow the terms, the warranty can be flat out voided, then obviously nothing is covered

lol. what you put is right, this is just a different circumstance. to be honest, i would still try to bring up that act if by some act of god they found out. hopefully the service guy youre dealing with is caught off guard by your knowledge and gets nervous.

why are you on the forum if you are worried about an extended warranty? I mean you buy a car like that and get on forum like this to most likely read about how to modify your car. Just reflash it the chances of them finding out are a million to one. Then again my nissan dealership loves me so they dont really ask questions.

does nissan blacklist cars?
i know when i had a subaru, if one dealer found something about your car that would void warranty they would enter it in the computer, so no matter what dealer you went to it would say that, in other words, if one dealer refused to honor my warranty, could i just go to another?

if they refuse because of something you can go to another dealer. but if they void it then i think it gets passed along. sometimes youll have to go through 2 or 3 dealers before you find one that will do the work and not BS about aftermarket parts, but you dont get blacklisted
