Enjoy the new mod, it definatly gives you a reason to pop the hood and it sounds mean as hell.
I think what your talking about is that because the intakes roar and make the car louder it gives you the false effect that you are going faster. Before i installed this i had the stillen long tube intake which imo retained teh sound of the VQ better than the injen. Altough i love the way the injen sounds as it gives it a racecar type sound. Anyway teh difference in sound between the stillen and injen (in loudnesss was very small) so i did not just get "tricked" by the sound. In fact the car pulls almost as hard as my car did when i had test pipes, and my dual 3inch dominator on, with the stillen intake. Man im kinda diappointed i decided not to do a before and after dyno with these. If noone has these dynos done by the August 5( my appointment with technosquare) i might consider redynoing with these. I have a dyno for the dominator, test pipes, and stillen intake without the reflash for 278 WHP. Do you guys think it will be worthwhile to redyno to see the differnce of the injen vs stillen long tube?

How much was your install on these. Did you DIY? Sounds awesome, I think this is a must for all VQ35HRs. Very nice.

your are right about the sound but I cant justify the expense just for sound......it seems as if the tune made the power not the intakes......well not much more than the k&ns............maybe i just need to watch the video a few more times

I paid 150 for install at precision z and they did a great job with everything they have done for me. And I know it sounds good in the clip, just think what it sounds like in real life.....and on a stock exhaust....

I think you are completly right about the intakes. I believe that they will gain some but not too much Hp when bolted on. The real power however does get unleashed from these with a tune. And the video does not seem to get old for as well

Hey you guys I had a question and really don't like opening multiple threads. I have red samco sport hoses being shipped as we speak and i needed some opinion on the look of the engine bay. I was thinking of painting the silver shaped U on the engine red and painting the strut bar black. That way the grounds, engine cover, and hoses are red and everything else is black except for the polished tubes of the intake. This was the best combo i could think off. Any suggestions? Anyone agree? Opinions greatly appreciated

It would be very interesting to see the difference and would yield some useful info.

if you want to change the color of the strut bar I would have it powder coated as it will hold up better....the finish that is
