I don't usually like making blanket statements, but for the most part, there needs to be a substantial amount of liquid for hydro-lock to be an issue. It's more of an issue for cars that had filters located in the fenders fairly close to the ground. It's hard to differentiate between a really deep puddle and a relatively shallow one depending on the surface reflection. I believe bypasses were generally designed for these types of situations, so a drivers misjudgement wouldn't lead to catastrophic engine failure. Again this is a blanket statement, theres always going to be a story or two of someone who never encountered a situation like this, and still experienced hydro-lock.

i did not get to drive my car as it was at Stillen. I can tell you though that I'm not worried about hydrolocking, especailly in california. If you know anyone with the old injen intakes, you would find out that they are always scared of hitting puddles becasue the filters are literally next to the lip of the front bumper. The injen intakes for our car is located at least 1-2 feet higher than the old designs. The filters are positioned above teh stock grill so I think we'll be fine. If you can't live with it thought and want some extra security, Injen sells a Hydroshield that goes over the filters, or you might be able to get a bypass for it.

I agree as well, but my friend was driving along side of my and he heard them at around 6k. So i drove his car and its definitely noticeable on the higher rpm range. I have the exact same set up with the turboxs exhaust. Although im using the silencers to dull out the exhaust and hear more of the intakes.
