Thanks for the info. I am concerned about a CEL, but I am more concerned about retaining the sound of my Bassani exhaust with no rasp. Louder is OK, rasp is not (IMO)

Can you tell us more about your HFC? Is it a metallic or ceramic substrate? What will differentiate yours from other designs? Is this Cobb's own design or are you rebadging another manufacturer's HFC?

Oh, and can the dealership check reflash history?

Thanks...

So since I have stillen intakes, this isn't recommended? Was looking forward to using this and don't have the "go back to stock" option. Bought car new with intake/exhaust/suspension done at a dealership and didn't get the original stuff.

I like the stillens, think it is funny the COBB won't work with them.

I like the idea of the simple plug in unit that COBB has plus it has all the monitoring, etc. The Uprev looks like it is more specific to the car but requires use of the computer. Now, what is good is that I am likely going to build a vista pc into the car and put a 7" touch screen where the nav unit would have been so I may have a PC on board.

thats exactly what i've been looking for, is an onboard pc that can integrate with the vehicles ecu, i've seen one person with the onboard pc running windows xp and i'm sure there are more but i don't think it can tune the car. . .not really sure where to start looking or if anyone actually has this thought up and available. . .

Do a search on "carputer" in google and you will find plenty of sites. The one I like the best is http://www.mp3car.com/ and I am looking to build something that comes out of the glove box behind the passenger, bolt to the side inside so I still have function, and wire to a switch in one of the blanks near the seat warmers that used to be for the convertable top up/down. Going to use a touch screen in the front cubby to control thing, but will wire that to the factory Bose using sound inputs off of the satellite xm module. Can run pretty much anything off of that.

They wanted about 3K for the Nissan version. Low res screen, 10GB hard drive. For under a grand I can have the screen and computer with 4 GB ram, 160GB hard drive, DVD drive, wireless, etc.
I want to be able to hit any wireless hotspot, check my email, send out mail, etc. I can also then install a GPS like Streets and Trips, use it for shows/movies, dump all my music to it, plus have it be a touch screen hidden behind the cubby door. How cool is that! You have a stock stereo? How you going to get your audio input?
Figure it would hook up nicely to the ECU with the right package.

For what its worth, a lot of headunits are starting to run on windows CE. I know the Avic's are, I'd bet that with some work you could nicely interface software like Uprev has into it.

If someone made it, then I would be game, but it isn't that hard to run a pretty powerful PC with Vista.
For all the gripes people have, if you use the right hardware, it is a lot more stable than XP, and the security is stronger. 4GB of RAM and a reasonable hard drive speed, plus a 4GB USB memory stick for speedboost. If the software runs on Vista, then that isn't a huge amount of cash to build something decent. There is a lot of room in that glove box, expecially if you use the space underneath. That way you have access to dropping in sofware, and I'm thinking of wiring a usb hut in the sliding cover compartment. Bluetooth USB transmitter is cheap, say 25 dollars, get a fold up bluetooth keyboard for long email reponses, but for the most part, a decent resolution with some accuracy isn't that expensive. Would allow me to link my cell phone. This is my future project as money allows.

No offense, Dave, but do you have a real Dyno graph? I am not trying to be a tool, but those look a little cartoon-ish.

I have an 07 HR z sitting at 292 WHP and 257 WTQ with CAI's, HFC's, and Dual exhaust w/x-pipe. These numbers are on a SAE corrected Dynojet. More importantly, I always do a before and after Dyno with all of my mods and I have a lot of folks following my progress. my next step is a Dyno-tune.

I'd love to be an HR tester on the west coast (and at sea level!), but I'd like my local shop to be able to Dyno-tune using your software.

I'd like to see if the Access port can produce gains similar to what Technosquare did for AH's and Infinite's cars. We can produce an independent dyno graph with before and after numbers that so many HR owners are interested in seeing.

Thanks!

EDIT: I'll mention that we are using the injen Cold-air intakes (Filters in front of the radiators, not in the engine bay). These do not mess with the AF ratio. They use the same diameter tubing as stock at the point where the MAFs are attached. We saw 0 gains up until about 6k RPMs and then we gained about 10 WHP between 6k and 7k RPMs - Evidence that we were relieving a bottleneck at only high-engine speeds. I know you guys suggest stayin on stock intakes, but I think these will be OK.

Do you have a more pronounced wheel hop issue or is it just me.

I'm going to be getting drag radials soon, so I'm gonna give the software another fair chance.

i can finally answer this ! sorry it took me so long

i don't think i have any " wheel hop" , but i definitely have less traction. i run 275 Advan Sport, and on a good day i could roll in first , almost step on it , chirp second, and off I go.

now, i cannot WOT in first.

i don’t have any “ hop”, but i also don’t have any traction. so that is just my wheel / tire combo, or the coilovers……

i saw a very big jump in the mid-range tq.... but i will sit on that info, until i re-dyno.
