Shift at what rpm?
So, ive read a lot of different mpg numbers from members. Ive always gotten high mpg out of my HR, so where do some of yall shift when grany driving/crusing?
I shift at or right above 2k (2k-2,2k) i can manage 25 1/2-27 by accel slowly and shifting there. When im on the car, i can still pull 22mpg. The lowest ive gotten it was a night to the track and some back home racing and it went to 19.8. So i was just wondering where some of yall shift.
Ive always done my own calcualtions with the mpg guage and it seems to be pretty accurate with +/- .2mpg.

20+mpg only occurs on the highway or from combined averages. As mentioned, even when driving very conservatively, street driving will net 15-17mpg.
As far as shift points, accelerating very slowly may not yield the best mileage. The car is most efficient when cruising at a steady speed, so quickly accelerating to cruising speed will most often yield the best mileage.
Now this does not mean redlining at every instance, but at the same time not accelerating very slowly either.

shifting right around or bellow 2500 RPM, and light on the pedal I can easily get 26+. cruisng at 48MPH on the hotter days, I've gotten 36MPG for the trip to work and back... thats F***ing awsome. now the lowest was when hollin' ***, and she wnet to 9.8MPG ( THAT PUTS IN PERSPECTIVE)
and around on the streets, and not a combined average, just city driving and going easy getting 21+MPG. and as stated above, if not babying through it all. you'll see max 20MPG

I can't get a fraction over 27.6 on the highway. That was just 6th gear crusing from MD to NJ and back. Combined, I get around 22, only because I have a highway commute. 07 base.
I shift at right around 3k rpm when driving normally and average 23 mpg in the city. That's also with me not fooling around and coasting towards red lights and stuff. On the highway I average about 27 mpg, but that requires no shifting.
cool. all i know is what i do, so i have no idea about acceling slowly or fast, this is how i get better. sasquatch seems to get relative numbers to me.
and david, your right... i actually tried that and got it down to a 13.46@105... so i guess ill have to post that slip....
