Default Synthetic VS. Regular Oil

this might be a newb question...but here it goes anyways. since synthetic oil is supposed to be changed every 5000 to 7000 miles and regular oil is supposed to be changed every 3000, is it fine if i just use regular oil all the time as long as i change it out every 3000 miles??? are there more benefits of using synthetic besides being able to drive longer without an oil change???

Regular oil these days is good up to 5k, especially ones like Castrol GTX. There is no reason to change it at 3k now. Going to synthetic unless you are extending your miles to like 6k or more, it's a waste of money.

My friend just purchased a new IS250 and his came with synthetic oil.

I switched to synthetic Castrol Syntec 5w-30 at 1,500 miles. My motor runs like a champ.

No it won't sorry to say. The only advantage is it doesn't break down as fast and you can go longer. That is all.
