You shouldn't bench race. It's against the law.

Well if you're quoting a time from a publication, then I'm going to have to retort and claim that Lexus says 5.6 sec. (confirmed via website). Is your Z a 6MT or 5AT?

There aren't any G35 Coupe HR, so it isn't a fair comparison. The 5AT HR is simply outgunned by an IS350. It puts down similar if not more WHP, and definitely more torque, it "out-torques" a 6MT HR, too. Add in the fact that the IS350 has a 4.083 rear final drive, and you pretty much take the 5AT HR down to a single advantage, its lighter curb weight. The weight difference isn't substantial enough to offset the gearing and power disadvantage.

Personally I think it's a pretty aggressive looking sedan with a superb engine and transmission. Just irks me that it doesn't come in a manual. The HR engines really should have been mated to a 4.08 on the 6MT, and the very least a 3.7 on the 5AT. I suspect a 5AT HR, with a 4.08 rear, would give the IS350 one hell of a run, if not beating it.

just check 1/4 mile times, ive seen videos of them run as low as a 13.3 but thats only one vid most are high 13s low 14s. its auto so its not that hard to drive down a track. HR Zs on this forum have gone as low as 13.1s (with clutch issues) some 13.2s 13.3s. IS350s are nothing to really worry about if you know how to drive a manual, many people think they're amazing drivers and then go to the track and find out otherwise. its a nice car tho

I almost got one of those, but the lack of MT held me back. The auto doesn't give a very fun driving experience, kinda boring. But those things r fast.
