07-08 differences?
#21
I got my '08 base 6mt with a few minor dealer packages for 26K. Compared to where the 370 is going to start, price point wise, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I can't recall the source, but I thought I saw that the 370 wasn't even that much faster, regardless of the 26'ish flywheel hp difference. After guys like me are all done throwing money into the aftermarket end of it, it's a clearly better deal to save money on the initial purchase so as to allow immediate or deeper aftermarket investment.
The biggest thing for me with that also, is to look at where the HR market is now... Just getting support from some tuning companies, TT kits are starting to show up, and this is over 2 years into it. Its just the same delay all over again on the 370, although the G37 has given somewhat of a headstart, but its still gonna suffer from the same response in a way. I'll be perfectly happy saving money and getting a current gen model, its an upgrade for me no matter what I get, i'm driving a goddamn '95 Ford Contour right now, I miss having a real car so badly

.97 to .99 G's on the skidpad.
60-0 braking between 105 feet and 101 feet.
I don't care how ugly it is, that's enough to pique my curiosity. I sound like a subie owner now - lol
And there's a good change we'll see close to 350 HP to the wheels with bolt-ons. EDIT: Plus a tune
Seriously, wait and drive a 370. By the time the 370s hit the street, they'll be giving away the 350s.
I still prefer the 350 look and I'll hang onto my 07 until at least May. After that, who knows. It would be cool to have the first 350WHP 370z. But what if I open up my HR and put in some JWT cams?

So what is your vote, 350 or 370Z?
Its not an issue of which one I like better, the new car is not under consideration at all, they will not be discounting them like the 08's, I am sure of that, I am simply looking at buying an older stock 08 as opposed to a used 07, as the pricing is remarkably similar right now. If I can snag a brand new 08 in the low 20's, I think thats a damn good deal. I'll be happy with that, especially seeing the power people are making on a stock block with a little boost.

I'm juss hatin cuz the 08 is lyk 6 g's cheaper then I got mine for lol.

I think the 07-08 are identical so it would come down to options on the cars and actual prices/mileage for what you've found. If they are really the same price, option-for-option, then of course go with the new 08. But if you have made up your mind on a 350, why not wait until the 370 has been out for a few months. Certainly people will be selling nice used 07 and maybe even 08 350s to get a 370. You might be able to get some free, already done mods that way.
Do you care about factory options? Are you looking for a specific model? base, enth, GT?
Good luck...

Thing is, I gotta have a 6mt, coupe. I don't see them pop up often in good shape fully loaded, I don't really want all the extra ******** that most of the trims include, I would love the VLSD and Brembos, but other than that... nothing there for me, and I have to go all the way to the top to get it.

The 370Z starts at around $29k..
If you can get a new 08 for under $20,000, then I can understand your point. But you're not going to find one at that price, I can guarantee you that.
If you are looking to save some money, go with an 07. It's the same damn thing as an 08.

You could always just drop some $$$ into the Contour like this guy did. It may be worth it...Just saying...http://www.cardomain.com/ride/305226...elated&order=1
I need some power in my life again, and I love a good handling car. This little POS has neither.
