You guys do know there is a TSB stating all Nissan Dealers to only use 75W85. The 75W90 when cold caused grinding noises and ruined transmission in some cases.

Bought my OEM from courtsey parts. I'm out of town ATM so I'll post my results after driving the Z around.

Make sure you got Nissan MTF HQ Multi 75W-85, the TSB for the dealership specially calls for that. Tropy Nissan put the bulk oil which is 75W90 during my 30K. Messed up my transmission, this TSB is fairly new came out 12/21/2009. They admitted to their mistake and replaced my transmission for free. Also, I get a free detail out of the whole ordeal and they even repowerd coated by wheels because they drove the automated wash when I said not to (got scratched). These guys have excellent customer service.

I'd just say buy this stuff online to avoid the potential of the dealership screwing it up then if you must, bring it with you to the dealership and only pay for labor. Amazing how many ****-up stories there are like this... scarey heh. At least you got a free transmission! haha

Hey guys,
i just had my trans. and diff. oil changed in my 2007 touring, it was a bit over due at 40k instead of 30k... anyways i had the guys at my local shop change it, and told them to put in Valvoline GL4 and they said they did, but today i noticed that when down shifting from any gear to 1st or 2nd, its really hard to shift. Doesnt make any grinding noises, but it just wont down shift. It up shifts fine from any gear... Just have problems with down shifting. Does that sound like they used GL5 instead of GL4? If it is I guess I'll just head to the dealer and pick up some oem and replace it myself.

I'm back in town and drove around the Z. I gotta say that OEM MTF is good to go. I'll admit that I have nothing to compare it to but it's shifting just fine.
