^ that is the best info. When someone uses a oil for a while, then takes the heads off and looks at the outcome. Good stuff. We need more of that kind of info.

I've been running the 0w-40 in our shop car for a while now, and it's what I put in customer cars as well. Good stuff.

mine read a tad above 30psi even after hard track driving and Drifting. get the pressure sending unit checked out. signs of a worn oil pump or something bad waiting to happen.

I've been to the dealer twice about it. The first time they replaced the sending unit... still reads low. The second time (different dealer) they hooked a manual pressure gauge to it and said it read 12 psi (and that sock was supposed to be 14 psi). They said they wouldn't do anything else because I was not running OEM spec oil or filter (I use the bigger Mobil filter). So unless it's the filter, the GC makes me lose 2 psi? Anyways.. that's not a huge difference.

The dumbest part is that our factory cars are supposed to idle at 14 psi but our gauges translate that to about 30!..? Well at least most of our gauges. -.-

I am pretty sure that when I was on Mobil 1 5W30 my gauge read the norm.. so I plan on switching to something else my next oil change. I don't think it's hurting anything (the GC), but it makes me feel uneasy whenever I look at the gauge.

BTW here are my oil gauge readings:

cold start - 50
after rpms drop at cold start - 25
warm idle - 7
cruising - 30-45
hard acceleration - 60-90

I had M1 5w-30 with M1 oil filter and the psi was reading normal.
And when I switched to GC 0W-30 with M1 oil filter, the oil pressure is reading actually like yours.

I'm going to switch to M1 0w-40 oil next oil change with M1 oil filter and see what will happen.
