I used regular Castrol conventional oil 5w-30 for a few thousand miles and then I switched to synthetic. I currently use Castrol Syntec 5w-30. To be honest I can't tell the difference.

In the summer I plan on using Mobil1 0w-40 (European Formula), they said it performs well..

I use 5w30 mobil 1 synthetic... I get them at costco when they are on sale with $7-9 off for 5 or 6 quarts... It comes out to $22 and I have my dealership change it for $15 for labor and filter since I'm lazy to do it myself.

don't have HR, but castrol "German" syntec 0W-30 works great [but the price has gone up in my area...now costs as much as RP] My current fill @ just over $5 a quart is Pennzoil Platinum

Im using Mobile-1 0w-40 and Mobile-1 filter. However I was doing a search on this late Saturday and am going to try the Wix filter. I would do a search for the thread but Im lazy and already did my own research and the post was very informative with flow & filtration numbers.

BTW, Mobile-1 filters have a great filtration system but I think flow was considered low. I haven't had a problem with the bigger filter (I don't use the little one that Mobile-1 recommends).

Im very surprised that there was no flaming on this thread like all the other "What Oil/Filter" threads.

this isn't the "Best motor Oil" thread, this is the what type of oil and filter are you running in your HR thread.

Nobody is asking which is the best oil to run, only to see what every one else is running

I've been running Royal Purple 5w30 for a while. Tried a few other brands, but after watching a friction test I'll never use anything else.
