God M1 5w-30 is junk. My cousin put that stuff in his G coupe and he had tons of burn-off. He took it out after about 1k miles and I told him to use Castrol Syntec's 5w-30. So far he has driven about 2,000 miles and no burn-off whatsoever.

Like I said, the only M1 formula I would ever use is their 0w-40 formula (which I have in my car now).

^^ x2. M1 use to be good but the are not as good as they use to be.

Penzoil Plat, Castrol Edge, are a few of the best right now.

I plan on going back to Amsoil after 2K Its not often i get my car up on the lift, so when I do its time for an oil change. Was out of Amsoil. My car won't clear pit walls.

A lowered car is nice but its pia to work on.

How about the M1 Full synthetic 5w-30? The one with the 15000 mile change interval? Is that a good oil?

Not so much, at least not so much in the Z.

Its not a bad oil, just not as good as some other options.

lol 15000 miles change interval. Thats bullsh*t.

No oil will last you that long and provide good engine protection.

Nice. They don't have a problem doing that? I may do this.

I run mobile 1 5w30 syn with no burn off

I am having this same problem. I'm about 1.2k miles into my oil change (mobil 1 filter and 5w30) and have lost maybe 1/4-1/2 quart of oil. Has anyone else had this happen to an HR? Rom, what filter were you using? also, have you continued to use the german castrol? And also what season was it when you noticed the OC problem?

Over 75% of you all will not keep this car for many years. So I'm confused as to why you all worry so much over which oil to use.
This isn't me bashing. I'm sincerly curious as to why most care so much when typically people don't keep a car past 80k miles on the odometer. They typically sell and get something newer.

I've seen it at Autozone, the Castrol, but not sure if it was German. How can I tell?

Mobil 1 5w30 since the day I got it. Changed the oil for the first time when I hit 1000 mile mark and have been using it since then. Now have 9100 miles on my car.

hi5

Why don't u use their filters?

I'm going to use AMSoil Signature 0w-30 with their EAO12. Been using them on the G35 for years. Currently cleaning it up with Penzoil Ultra full synthetic 10w-30 for about 2K miles.

I use to be a dealer but lack the time to persue it now a days. Its easier for me to buy the oil from a local supplier but they do not stock the oil filters. I'm sure the K&N's are a quality filter. Those I can pick up at Pepboys or Autozone here locally.
