Default ==nismo header for HR question==

from what I saw on picture they look like they have O2 sensor bung.
Are they O2 sensor bung ?

If yes then where should we put O2 sensor if I install this headers ?
on cat or on header?

Or we have 4 O2sensors ?

Thanks

Just a heads up, if you install these headers your going to need to run some sort of 03-06 cats because the flange on your HR cats will not bolt up to these. And because they were not designed on the HR there is no guarentee that when you install them, they don't hit the stering knuckle....

Good luck bro

You might consider Stillen HR headers, I think A.H has them you should ask him, after all he is the HR N/A expert here

you have 4 O2 sensors
2 wide band at the end of the headers and 2 O2 after the catalytic converters for emissions.

btw.
if you plan to use the nismo headers they aren't tested with the HR engine (07+ ) and besides having to use old test pipes / catalytic converters you should double check for clearance issue with the steering column and a bolt right down there on the steering column.

Yeah. like the others said we do have 4 o2 sensors.

...These will bolt on to your HR engine but like A.H. mentioned you would have to change out your Cats as well because they won't bolt up to these.

IMHO it would probably be a waste to get these for an HR. They are great headers (I even bought these for my Z) but the HR's already come with well made headers compared to the crappy exhaust manifolds on the DE's.

...If I can find the pictures comparing the two I'll post them.

Ok, Found what I was looking for...

Here are OEM HR headers

Here are crappy OEM DE exhaust manifolds

...As you can see the Nismo headers aren't that much different than the ones you already have,
plus the headers that are on your car now have the added benefit of having a heat shield.

they have to have a heatshield because they are cast iron.

the look of the header is only 1 part of the equation - diameter of the primaries, length of the primaries, collector style and length, etc

I realize there's more to making a good set of headers than just making them look like headers. My point was just that since the HR's already come with better headers it would likely be less worthwhile to upgrade. Given it's such a PITA to change headers this is something he may want to consider first.

..also, are you sure these are cast iron? I was almost 99% sure these are made of mild steel. If they are, why would
being made of cast iron necessitate the use of a heat shield?

Has anyone purchased the Stillen headers mentioned earlier? im curious to know if they've had any noticeable gains.

someone on another forum mentioned that its basically pointless to get them because the stock HR headers are good as is.

thoughts?

Default Stillen headers

I put on the Stillen v. 3 Headers onto my 08 base last weekend. Had the JWT intakes and Injen SES also. I can definitely feel the car is quicker and more explosive, especially in 3rd gear past 5-6K. I'm trying to take it to get a baseline dyno, and then send my ECU off for an UpRev reflash. I don't think that 300whp is too far away at all.

You dont have to send you ecu to uprev for a flash. You buy the osirus.
