A raised rev limiter doesn't affect how much power you put down on a dyno because in my case my peak hp is around 7000 i believe. And I believe your gains were very good for a stock car and I could see them in the 290s with the exhast and HFC combo. That I don't doubt. I just thought it was odd that a car with just a cat-back gained 20whp from a tune. That's all.
Depends on the tuner too. Mine was actually tuned by UPREV themselves, so they have more knowledge in that area.
I want to raise the rev limiter to better be able to stay in the power band. Dyno power really doesn't do much for me, I use it to tune and benchmark performance modifications. The track tells the real story. I was impressed also with my gains. At the top end it's a different car indeed.
On the track staying in the RPMS that high can damage the engine if you raise the limiter. That is why I didn't want to do it as I track my car and sit at the rev limiter a lot.

True, it's a risk that I'm willing to take. Provided the HR rev limiter can be upped.
Car actually gained more than 5rwhp. It gained more through out the powerband itself. On a stock car it did 5 hp from like 2500-5000 and above that it was 8-10hp. That is a stock car. After the HFCs got on, the car started to gain way more power. I expect after I put on my MD TDX exhaust, that will put me somewhere in the 290s or so, and intakes 310s~.
I also track my car and requested the rpm to not be raised, and keep the tune safe.
Solo- let me kow when you plan on going back to uprev for a retune.I just transferred back to SA and have time/money to add some items to mine.
One thing to consider right now is that the 08's have 8 different ecu codes, hence why so many have been having problems with the tune. Give it some time and it will get better.
just fyi - bone stock hr gets 245 on that same dyno
Humm,
I cap out at 7,500 which is what I would expect on a stock rev limited car. Looks like your baseline run (pre tune) only took you up to 7,500. I'm betting the tune took it higher.
I got 285 with a very rich tune, I don't know the baseline on uprev dyno but I guess we could have stretched to 290/295 staying on the lean side (13.5) and I'm on 12.6 and less on top.
