Question How important are the oem intake ducts?

Like the thread topic says, how important are the air intake ducts going from the nose/hood latch area into the stock airboxes?

Im taking off my Nismo intakes today and bringing the car back to stock. I have to let her go. Im going back to school and need a cheap car to commute year round with and have zero to minimal payments on it since ill only be working when I can.

Anyways, In the process of putting on my nismo intakes a year and a half ago I could not get the drivers side duct out for the life of me. Then it started to rain if i remember right, so I just cut it in half and removed it that way.

I have the passenger side duct yet and could put that one back in at least.

So, don't put them in at all or go to nissan and order one and put em both in this week?

(I dunno how the hell to put it in even since it seemed inpossible to get out without dropping the nose.)

Thx

A little difficult to return the Z to stock if they are missing isn't it?

Actually its pretty easy, IMO. I took off the nismo intakes, HKS exh and berks in under an hour and a half, by myself. Im taking a quick 5 min break right now and gonna be putting on the OEM stuff in a few.

The air ducts do nothing more than smooth out the air flow going from the latch area into the boxes. Im gonna leave em off for now. If i feel generous before selling it ill order one later on and pop it in.

Personally I'd want them in, but if its someone who is going to put intakes ok they might not care.
