Default Y pipe is damaged

i was driving up 101 and a piece of granite slab or something rolled underneath my car and punched a hole in the virbration damper on the y pipe. can i just replace the damper or do i need a whole new y pipe

Try replacing the damper and if that doesnt work then just replace the entire y pipe

does anyone know if thw y pipe on the 07 the same as all the others? if i cant buy a used one, i will probably just get the full nismo catback

You could have shop fabricate a piece of pipe, and weld it in place.

damn this sucks. i just noticed that rock sliced my front bumper too. this first month of ownership isnt going well...

i think i will just bite the bullet and get the nismo cat back. the local dealership is selling it for 1200ish

im going to try and rig something up with pipe clamps aluminum foil and some mesh screen. hopefully it was be enough to at least not make my car sound like a lawnmower

Im sure someone in your area is willing to let you borrow a Y pipe until you can get a new one. Dont depend on aluminum foil and clamps to seal up a hole. +1 on getting the nismo exhaust. They are quite nice Im sure you can find a used one alot cheaper than what the dealer is charging you.

Do not go to that dealership. The pricing they gave you was outrageously expensive. Go through one of the vendors on here.

I suggest checking in the exhaust for sale section if you plan on staying stock.

A lot of people with the HR have swapped out their y-pipes for aftermarket.

Or you can post a "Want to buy" thread.
