The chief "updates" of the stock HR over the stock DE is enhanced breathing. Internal changes, manifold and block design, dual intake, cam tuning, etc. You might be able to gain a few ponies with the Z1 unit but do note that there is the "requirement" to tune. The HR already has a higher torque/power curve set and while the claim is that there's more power across the board (all ranges), one would have to see a before-after dyno chart to make a case for it. But I'd be interested to see what gains can be had from a $300 breathing/intake mod. Ideally the dyno chart would cover: Stock HR, HR with the manifold porting mod (alone), HR with tune (only) HR with porting mod AND tune to be complete. These would tell the story on whether or not the intake mod makes sense.

But for a miniscule $300, why not get it, see if butt dyno bears anything out (non-placebo effect) and post it up for all to see?

Best thing I have done to my car so far was a Ported 370z Upper and lower Mani, moved the power curve where its fun. I dont feel like i loose much/anything for doing so. Im not even tuned yet (About to buy Headers) and I feel it being much stronger in the top end and upper mid range like 4500+.
Problem is people dont have a goal when buying mods. Find your driving style, Adjust the power band with mods to suit, buy mods for that goal. The sum total of the mods means a hell of a lot more than the individual gain. Yeah you might only get 3hp with the plenum mod peak, but what about if you have full boltons and a LTH that also wants more RPMs? What is it doing under the curve? This this mod allowing your Exhaust mods to make more power?

If you are looking for what gains a ported mani makes on an other wise stock car, you will be very disappointed. Full boltons done right though?
