Default STS Rear mount turbo

Dont think i've seen this in the HR section.

Regular STS kit with custom piping for the other TB.

Pretty interesting..pretty cheap route if you like the STS style.

Interesting ... are they claiming to have built the first single turbo HR motor that I know of? Why post DE power curves if they have HR curves?

I guess you still need custom work done to make it fit the 2 TB's....

I second that. If they put it on a HR Z, they should have posted the HR's dyno sheet too.

There really wouldnt be that much of a difference in the Hardware... only up front... get a single in dual out IC and piping.... And of course the tuning system because I dont think the Utec will work.... Its not too far out of the scope I guess.... and they do have a dyno video of it on an HR.... sounds sick as hell

I'm still wondering if this is for real.

The video shows what looks like an HR motor. But if the custom work up front to deal w/the 2 MAFs/TBs is as much as I'm guessing, $6,500 would be a bargain - that's only $1,200 in labor.

It would also be quite an accomplishment, but this is the first time I've heard of it. I haven't had any luck finding additional info on this install.

My thinking behind this kit is this, if the kit can readily go into a HR then why didn't STS just make one for the HR? For one this video has been on the net for almost a year, and I contacted STS at one point when I first got my Z and asked them about there kit. They just referred me to an exhaust shop that sells there stuff and said that they could possibly do it for our cars. If you want to be the first guinea pig to try this kit, especially since you saw this advertised on ebay, then who are we to stop you. Its your money.

I must have watched this video 20 times trying to see if it was legit and I cant tell.... I cant see anything that would point to the car not being an HR... even the interior is HR....... I wish the owner of the car in the video was a member here.... you would figure with an 07-08 Nismo he would be but oh well..... I would do it if I had my 07 roadster right now..... I think maybe they are developing it and thats what the video is from... they dont list it on their site but it took them 2 years to show more than just a picture of a Z on the page they were selling the DE kit on so I wouldnt doubt its just lazyness.

My friend and I built a rear mount for his 05 and its still running strong as hell.... feels like a Turbonetics Z.....

If they dropped the price to $5,000 installed I would do it! Still seems like a much better deal than other kits.. but GTM is FTW!

Ive been quoted 14 grand to install the STS on an HR motor... by a very reputable shop. just FYI. They said they just take the DE kit and add the custom piping your talking about. 6500 for kit.. rest is for the custom work and labor. Of course for 14 grand, I said no thanks.

This is a local shop in my area. They did some work on my old S13 when I had it. Not so sure about dealing with the new guy that runs the place now though (will keep drama out of the thread so don't ask for details).
