great info thanks, I will post some pics as soon as I am done pimpin out the engine bay. I polished and painted red the timing covers, polished all the metal hoses for the a/c and a few brackets. I removed the plastic over the plenium and am having a custom polished piece made as we speak, it might be done by mon. As far as intakes go I installed the Fujita and boy do they get hot under the hood. I was thinking of wraping them with heat wrap for headers.

Nice, look forward to seeing your HR bay cleaned up!

Funny you mention the header wrap I thought about doing that first as well, even bought some and tried it.. but there was a couple things that stopped me from executing. 1) the in. tubes are pretty well polished, the wrap has a hard time not sliding around/binding up due to lack of friction on the tubes. 2) Not that much room, underneath the tube, there are a couple points where the wrap would come into contact with the engine bay and didnt want engine movement to bump the intakes off track or create a leak. The stuff I had was about 1/8 in thick. 3) Header wrap is kinda overkill for this application and I used it on my HFC's (which i have no regrets in doing)

The best approach would probably be just to wrap the headers themselves to reduce bay temps, but I'm too lazy and cheap to pull them off just for a wrap, hence me choosing the cheaper and easier of the two options.

Btw, the ugly wrap is just high temp water heater insulation. Nothing fancy but it functions.
