Now Josh all you guys got to do now is get off of your butts and come out with some kind of forced induction application for the VQ35HR, lol.

Ok, so to do this install properly I have been researching and calling around to talk to different people and shops. I talked to Sharif at Forged Performance near Atlanta to possibly set up a time for them to do the install properly and dyno all in one day. I am still working out the details, and think this might be the best independant dyno and shop to do the work that is near me. I am in Nashville, so I have to calculate how much it is going to cost to drive 4 hours to Atlanta, stay in a hotel a couple nights, have them do both installs (Headers and Intake) two dynos (before and after) Uprev tune and drive back, hopefully all in one weekend. I will keep you guys posted on the progress and install and all the details as I figure it out. Still trying to get this all done by the end of this month, and think everyone here is interested to hear the results. And I figured if I can afford it to get them to do an Uprev tune as well. But I am trying to also not go borke -oops, I mean broke (but borke works too) in the process. Should see some significant gains and it will be interesting to see what my setup yeilds. More to come...

Forged is a great place, I'm sure that will work out perfect.

Josh, what are the pros and cons versus your gen 2 intake with the half long tubes? What kind of gains above the stage 2 kit? Also, with such long tubes does throttle response/torque decrease in the lower rpms? Thanks

Not sure I have the dyno's on the 350Z specifically, but do have the G35 Sedan.. There is definitely a larger gain across the board, including low end torque, and the biggest gains are up high, where it really lets the car breathe.

Pros of Gen 3: More horsepower & torque, louder intake sound under WOT (still mellow at cruising), increased visual appearance, no urethane boxes like Gen 2..

Cons: More expensive, mild enlarging of holes in front core support brace (very minor), more involved install (hundreds have been done by guys in their garage) could take longer. Less OEM look with no boxes.

Gen 2 Dyno: http://www.stillen.com/product_files/402843~dyno.pdf
Gen 3 Dyno: http://www.stillen.com/product_files/402845~dyno.pdf

More just a choice of what you're looking for, both are great products.

These intakes dont seem any different than the Injens, so I need to see more independant dyno's proving these intakes actually make 20HP or esle I call B.S. We all know how intake company's like to claim their intakes will add X amount of HP and in the end all you paid for was sound.

We also have both an oil cooler and transmission cooler, and with that installed it will not work as a bolt-in upgrade as it would without the intake. It just means that the oil or trans cooler would need to be relocated, and is not a bolt-in application.

It will however work fine with an oil and/or transmission cooler, just takes a little rearranging away from the published instructions.

i went on a search to see if any1 has dynod these, on the 370z they saw gains of like 9whp with 4 lb/ft torque, with the bumper off it made an additional 6 whp and 8 lb/ft of torque

Actually that test you're looking at (I'm sure it's my350z.com) has continually had some inconsistent dyno numbers from many different things, and really isn't typical, and we've had no difference in dyno results with the bumper on and off.

There are however several forum members that have independently dyno'd the Gen 3 Intakes, and had results like these:

Installed this this past Monday (had the Nismo Dual intake before). PICS AND VIDEO BELOW. I love it, have no complaints so far. I felt a slight HP increase on my butt dyno, and yesterday the real dyno got me numbers I was happy with, thanks in part to this intake: I got 281 rwhp. Air/fuel was at a consistent 12.1 throughout the entire pull in 4th gear. I'm at 5000ft altitude, Stillen HFC, Stillen True Dual Exhaust, and this intake. I've dynod back home in Cali before (sea level) and in general I think I'm losing about 10-15 hp here. I don't have a good tune yet (waiting for a couple of other mods) but I still felt a good power increase at higher RPMs. I also absolutely love the sound it makes as its sucking up all that cold air. For comparison on the dyno video, a fully stock 370z from our club dyno'd right before me, at 275 rwhp.

Looks good! Highly recommend getting the car tuned now. Your AFR is alittle low at 12.1

I'll have a Dyno with my intakes installed shortly & may need to retune. Sweet spot is right around 12.9 AFR so after the tune you will see real gains. Not to mention Incredible throttle response!

Scan your dyno print out and post back.
