ive had aam tp's on my car for about 4k miles and i havent had a single check engine light or any problems from my car. however im going to swap my tp's for the hfc's that i just bought so i can pass emissions in north carolina when i move there. but i havent had any issues other than it may smell a little bit

Hey I would just re-register to SC IMO. It'll keep you away from all the gay base rules.

But back on topic

I've had mine for a few hundred, and nothing so far. If you feel worried about it, get a tune.

I also heard a lot of BS reguarding TP showing check engine lights, and I said F*** it and bought Berk High Flow Cats! Couldn't be more satisfied.

I'm with davidv on this one, post some examples of where you seen how they're "bad" for the engine. If gaining close to 10HP is bad, then I guess I wont be buying them.

dont missunderstand me i dont think they are bad but when i had went to get them put on the guy told me that he would not recomend it because it will make the car run lean and will hurt the engine in the long run so i was just seeing what anyone had to say about it.

Have TP's and get CEL every few months. Just erase them. I need a tune though.

No cel for me and don't have a smelly exhaust. Although I lost 11 hp and 13 tq when I added the TP. regained it after retune. I think I have one of them anemic Z's. Having a hell of a time gaining power with bolt on mods with uprev tune. Frustrating! Adding the CAI will lean it out. Uprev told me it should be tuned after getting cai.

I've had AAM test pipes.... well the mods in my sig for over 25k miles. all sorts of driving and no problems. I get a check engine light but other than that it's all good. I did have them before and after the tune and no problems either way.

Look at the operation of sensor #1. Sensor #1 is before the catalytic converter.
