Well on Friday the 13th of Nov. I went up to Austin to get the tune done. I was rather impressed by almost getting 10hp more!
The employees of Uprev were funny and kind.
Please feel free to give your input on what you think about the dyno sheet.

And a quick shot of the Z on the dyno before they started.

Over all I was very happy with the tune and maps and will be going back for future tuning.

Nice work. Rich and the guys at UpRev are top notch. I'm curious to ask. Do you still have your stock intake\air boxes?
I put mine back in over the weekend to find that the car felt much better even with its stock air filters.
We did the same on one of my customer's M35. We took off his intake and installed the stock unit back in to find that we gained power.

Ya, I'm still on stock intakes only thing I have is k&n filters. Hey I'm jw if my numbers reading low because before I went I YouTube Uprev and there was a 06z with high flow cats true duel exhaust and a 5/16 spacer and he made 274hp on the same dyno.. I know it not about the numbers but the gains you make but I thought I would aleast in the 280s
well any advise will helps thanks!

Ya, i know what you mean by looking at the dyno how i made power across the bored any were from 4 to 6hp but i just dont get it how a solo-z got his to 295 with highflow cat and the motordoyne td kinda exhaust and intakes :/. Either way i do feel it on the butt dyno
. I guess the Intakes will give me a rather good gain then
i hope lol.

lol... solo had more mods that that, and he was closer to 293 (under).
get a different y pipe, he had (in all honesty) a much better exhaust system as well.
everyone's car is different however, 274 is respectable for the mods you have certainly.
don't forget those highly debated injen intakes
perhaps they were the real key to his success! lol

Piping size is largely determined by flow rate, volumetric efficiency, and RPM, and not a function of how the engine is fed.

It dual exit exhaust not single exit just fyi... Ya, i know he has the intakes but you would think with out the intakes i would at least hit 280 :/. Idk it just makes me feel like i got a lemon Z :/, i guess it just all in my head. Well over all for the TP and Catback being my only mod did i do good on the gains i made and how i gained power threw out the power band? The guys at uprev said he was impressed how the power was gained across the power band for the 2 mods i had.

Stock Y-Pipe is only slightly larger than 60mm. About 63.5. Want to know where your extra 5-10whp is? Swap the Y-Pipe. It's already been mentioned a few times.
You're dyno looks pretty representative of a test pipe only dyno. "Different car different dyno, blah blah blah" With that said. You said SOLO350Z dynod around 290. Which would put VQ35HR baselines on that particular dyno in the 250-255 range. Now it may not be a perfect assumption to assume your car would dyno the same, but it would be a pretty darn good one.
Before the tune, your baseline is 266. Between that and the estimated 250-255 zero mod theoretical baseline. You've gained almost exactly what would have been gained from simply getting test pipes. With that stock Y-Pipe in place, any gains from the y-back I'm sure are being minimized.
266-255 or 266-250, that puts you around 11-16whp gain, take the average between the 2, and thats around 13-14whp. Regardless of baseline numbers, others are seeing net delta gains in the ~20-25 range, from testpipe-ypipe-catback. Also they tend to gain in upwards of 10whp from the tune.
Stop wondering why you didn't make as much power. Change the Y-Pipe, and retune.

so your saying the y pipe would be the pinch in my hp?? THe only thing solo had different than me was td and intakes to make into the 290s... and ataru074 he made 285 :/ only difference is y pipe. So T_K your saying is the y pipe that is my problem?? I read that the y pipe doesnt give you gains or anything :/ or did i miss read??

I think most of the consensus thus far with HR motors(350z, 370z, g37) is that the Y-Pipe is the most restrictive portion of the exhaust. Get a decent Y-Pipe and I think you'll find your missing horses.

Ya, well it from test pipe to y pipe to single with dual outlets. Compared to the other guys jic single exit exhaust. Ya, i have been doing some research on Y-pipe and people with the de say get the HR if you dont want to spend alot but what about a guy with a HR? I heard the motordoyne (how ever you spell it) makes the most power and has been proven on a dyno. It just i cant justify spending $500 on a y-pipe which i can get at a muffler shop for $150 :/. I have also noticed there is a wide rang of different Y-pipes and i`m not to sure which one to get :/. I have noticed that the ones that look like the stock y pipe but bigger piping are the ones that are making power.
So would you recommend getting the Ichuba Y-pipe for $188??? Or sucking it up and spending the $500?
