LONG time since I have seen you on the forums jiggy. I am under the impression that although the Z is a 3.5 V6 it doesn't produce enough volume for a 3 inch, I swer I saw people who are running a 3 inch exhaust and they actually lost some torque down low.

Where in the world did you get that info? A 3 inch single?

Ya, i get that stinking rattle snake noise to! Well like i said i had bassani and i didnt like how the power band shift to more up. My brother had 2.5 threw exhaust y to single to dual exit and i like his power band better. Plus honestly there no reason going with TD exhaust unless FI or you dont care about power and just want sound. I personally like show and go but that just my taste.

Yes, i do plan to do injen intakes and not sure yet on the Y-pipe, plus a returne.

Some of you guys pointing out exhaust sizing ideas based on muscle car era "rules of thumb" seriously need to read a real book.

i'm running Altereds Dual 3".... not for the power it makes N/A (which once you cross a certain level less back pressure will effect an N/A car negatively up to a certain RPM no matter what engine your talking about ) , but for the sound (me likey tha vibrant mufflers).

Please refrain from quoting that age old saying about "back pressure" being needed. It's incorrect.

Default tune

Just put in my Stillen HFCs yesterday. Have the JWT intakes, stillen headers, and a nismo-style axle back with gruppe-s y-pipe. Am going to try and get a tune real soon. Will post numbers afterwards, am intrigued to see what the car'll do. 300 shouldn't be a problem, i hope. my buddy's 04 G35 has pretty much my same mods + plenum spacer, post-tune he did 285 to the HUB @ Church's in/near Long Beach.

Hmm, pretty good Numbers! I'll post 2 dyno's from my car. It's a 2007 G35 Sedan 6MT, with the VQ35HR motor.

Mods I have are Stillen Cat-Back, FI HFC's, and Injen Dual CAI. COBB AP.

First Dyno run. Was made with my ECU Flashed With COBB "Stock Style" map. so not really sure what my baseline Numbers would be. and he Tuned a little and got a FInal Number of 280WHP. All runs were done in 4th gear.

2nd Dyno done about 3 weeks later, too see if my numbers were diffrent from the other dyno, which I know usuing 2 diffrent dyno's will not get same results, but with this run, no tuning, I got my AFR's, and TQ numbers. First tuner had comp problems and could not get me all the info in the sheets.

So this first run was made in 4th gear with about a 30min cooldown, and 2nd run was made in 5th gear and car topped out at 150MPH in 5th! AWESOME!! LOL

So seems my numbers are close to your dyno run. What u guy's think? I hear some people tell me my Numbers are low, and some say it's good! since some guy's hit closer to 300WHP! But most of those number's come from mainland dyno's! and we don't have too many tuners with dyno's in Hawaii! LOL. Tell me what you think? I had doubts about my numbers too, thinking I got a weak motor! But after the tune, my car runs like a beast! Spins my 20's from a roll or dig with ease! and that with VDC on! LOL
