I didn't go for the supercharger strictly for price. However it did play a part in my decision ...I was looking for the best value. Meaning bang for the buck (not just the cheapest option) I was looking for 400-450 whp. This kit did it the cheapest while still using high quality components, the rotrex supercharger is an awesome unit. I went with the DC sports exhaust bc. I'm a former Honda guy the name was familiar & when I did research import tuner had done a test on it and made a 10whp gain. Which is about what I was expecting from kits at 2x the cost, and what's wrong with kinetix cats? I guess I am a cheap *** just from reading what I just wrote. Lol But I just don't see wasting money for a name.

Good news on the supercharger, Sam gave me a call today and he said that things are finally starting to come together on the supercharger kit and said it should be completed late this month or early next month. If it would have been much longer I would have probably paid the difference to get the greddy kit and gotten used to sleeping on the couch bc. my wife would have been pissed she already hates the car.

Just tell your Wife it's cheaper than a hardcore prostitute and drug addiction and alot less destructive. Glad to hear that Sam contacted you with some positive news. I'm really interested to see if the VQ35HR reacts alot better than the VQ37VHR did. I think the VVEL creates alot of issues with too much valve overlap and heat problems, the VQ35HR may end up to be the engine of choice for supercharging.

I catch alot of flack from my woman to. You think she would be use to it by now! They are just jealous and envious. I have been patiently waiting for results. My next purchase may have to be an MCR vented hood to dissipate heat and lower temps in my engine bay! I wish I wrapped my headers.

I keep saying they won't be on long. If I go TT I can remove them and If I go SC I can remove and wrap them when I install the SC kit. Decisions/decisions

And if all else fails there's always car show groupies. lol I agree with you on the valve overlap boost doesn't do much good when its blown out the exhaust. As far as heat is concerned I thought the HR was pretty famous for running a temperature, I know the vhr is even worse I remember reading in a couple magazines that they were overheating on the track during testing even with the optional oil cooler. An oil cooler would probably be a good investment for us too. Which spark plugs are you going with Sam likes the hks but I heard 370 plugs work pretty well too.

To tell you the truth I haven't even thought about the plugs. I am going to buy the GTM oil cooler with thermostat, GTM trans cooler, and transgo shift kit (5AT). I will have to buy a new intake manifold gasket and I think I might buy some dyno mat to try to kill the whine the Walbro fuel pump will most likely create.

They haven't even released the damn kit...how are they going to raise the price already? Seems a little misleading on their "introductory" price. Maybe they should get around to posting some results that are fairly impressive because the G37 results aren't so far. Been following this kit like the plague ever since their announcement and the having none of my PM's returned nor any of my questions answered makes me less inclined to send money their way. I know they are a busy shop but as much as they make I am sure they can afford a marketing specialist or online sales consultant. Guess I will go have to see how well Greddy's communication is......

That's all for now...flame suit on.

I would like too but at this $4995 price point and the much easier installation process attracted my attention. Being in WA I have very few options for shops that are competent for installations let alone tuning.

Agreed a trust worthy professional shop is 4 hrs from me or more. Which means I have to take time off of work, crash at friends houses nearby which is several trains away from the shop on L.I. or a long train ride home and back which = couple hundred bucks. Suck *** really! If this wasn't the case, I'd have a boosted Z with 550 WHP by now!

I'm not far enough away that I would have to ship the car but If I was, I'd be concerned about damage to the body kit from loading and unloading with a lowered car. I'd have to pay a shop to setup the suspension again if I raised and lowered the car myself. Lots of headaches with performance cars.

Not really! If I lived in the city or had closer access to a real shop I would have a gtm stage 2 TT kit with supporting mods and clutch.

I'm in an every other year rotation between modding the car and racing skis. This year the Skis get priority. I didn't race last season. All my travel and funds goto racing and modding them.

There is a Colonial Beach Race Aug 7-8th in VA! I'd like to make that trip. Looks to be a good one.

How much is the Greddy TT kit (turn key) total not including labor? I would install myself. What numbers does it put down?

I'm curious, too. Everyone keeps saying that Greddy TT kits are cheaper, so where do you get these cheaper kits for the HR and is it a full turn key kit because right now I'm torn with trying to turbocharge my Z or getting a R33 Skyline.
