Question Got a Baseline For My Stock 07

I went to the local dynojet and got a baseline of 256whp/240tq. The power is what I expected but I was surprised by the torque and have a quick question. Shouldnt my whp be higher considering my torque output? The powerband is very linear & I'm not complaining but I thought that the torque output was a little high. I did a search for bone stock baseline dynos and I dynoed 13-15 more torque that all cars with similar dyno results (255-260whp). My car wasn't pinging or pulling timing on the dyno. I have my dynosheet attached below.

The relationship for torque, speed, and horsepower is set by a formula. Given any two, you'll always get the other. See:

I spot-checked a few points on your sheet, and the numbers come out OK.

Not all dynos read the same, but thats around the norm for most RWD vehicles that i've seen Most AWD were around 33%

I put my car on the dyno todat at Z Car Garage (didnt even ask what kind of dyno it was just cause it was dyno day over here in san jose, ca. but I put out 266hp and 241tq. So i would think yours would be fair because I have at leats two things over your baseline. I have the JWT Popchargers and the nismo catback. i have an 07 HR

You can't compare car to car specially if on different dynos. Even on the same dyno we have seen Z's dyno differently, they are not all the same. Just use your numbers to keep track of mods and their increases in power/torque

As for the results of OP, horsepower is a result of torque and rpm so if your torque dips as rpm's go up your horsepower will not climb as high as it could, only way to get the HP to go higher is to keep your torque up, so figure out mods to get the torque up at the higher rpm's and you will increase your peak hp.

Thats kind of a wierd question. Many thing increase peak tq(longer intake manny runners, header setup, a turbo lol)

Why exactly are you going for more peak tq?

im a DE and i was comparing my tuned dyno vs the baseline above.

I feel like my power drops off too soon after 5k rpm. Pulls quite good up to that point.

Based on Westpak's comments above, he was saying to look for mods to move the torque curve higher which will prolong the drop off point in hp.

well you want peak torque in the driving range around 3-5k who cares if you have peak torque at 6k just to get a higher peak hp, make the gains where you drive it.

if you want peak hp to go up is to have torque stay up to rev limiter and one way is to get turbos and free flowing exhaust.
