Default Getting these next mods, opinions please? :)

So I'm starting to collect up some extra cash and wanted to spend it on some new mods. Just wanted some opinions from you guys to maybe sway my decisions with something else. No flaming please

So far I only have Stillen Gen 2 dual intakes, I've had them for a while, yes I know people have been saying they are worse for the car, but I like them and it feels like I've gained some kind of power. If I didn't get any power, I know that these intakes made my car feel a lot smoother. Plus I like the sound

I did a lot of research on what I mainly wanted, so now its just time to decide completely on a specific brand. As far as the next mods I wanted to get, here they are:

ENGINE:

Stillen or Crawford HFCs, seems like a lot of people get Berk also so I might consider those. Mostly set on Stillens

Exhaust - Nismo S-tune , Greddy Ti-Cs, Stillen or Injens? Exhaust wise im trying to get decent power, but mostly good sound. I really like the Nismo and Ti-C so I wouldn't mind either of them, whichever comes cheapest to me first I guess

Headers - Stillens

Osiris tune after all these have been put on?

SUSPENSION:

HKS Hipermax III coilovers, not sure if these are a little TOO good for me or not, because they're pretty pricy. I need something thats above average performance, but able to daily drive. I can deal with them being a little stiff

Sway bars - Stillens? not too sure on what I want as for as these go.

Future work consists of grabbing some Work Emotion CR Kai's in bronze to go with my SMB color.

What do you guys think?

For the HFCs, get Stillen or Berk, both of them are good. For exhaust just get nismo if you want something that sounds nice and isnt too loud.

I put the Greddy Ti-C dual exhaust on because I was eventually getting the Greddy TT tuner kit also. They come with silencers but I took those out because I like the exhaust a little louder at high RPM, but at low RPM they aren't very loud and give a nice deep exhaust note, and the tips aren't obnoxiously large.

Get the fast intentions exaust. Beat gains I have seen plus sounds better than any other exaust I have heard on an NA HR motor. If you were going FI I would say get ready by getting the Greddy.

Don't waste your money on the Stillen headers. They are 500.00 and will cost you just as much, if not more to have them installed.

HFC's, any will do but fast intentions also sells a nice set.

Suspension, get coil overs so you can adjust you ride height and get corner balanced. You can't go wrong with Greddy and BC is an option too.

Sway bars, go with hotchki's.

Osiris tune all the way.

Hope this helps.

check out the sound clips on this thread.

https://my350z.com/forum/vq35hr/4786...t-pipes-2.html

Its my car with Injen CAI, Fast intentions Resonated Cat Pipes and an HKS exhaust. I love the HKS but I've heard the Fast Intentions exhaust too and it sounds great...as for the HFC's...Stillen, Berk, Crawford... very common...the Fast Intention Resonated Cat Pipes are not as common and sound awesome!

And definitely do the Osiris tune at the end.

Nismo may not get you the best HP gains but it definitely has the sexiest sound of all the after market options. I had to switch to a single after installing the turbo and miss the sound of the nismo exhaust a lot.

@GAMERMODZoCOM thanks for the helpful tips. As far as the headers go, I can still them myself with a friend so none of these mods I am purchasing will cost labor. For the fast intentions exhaust, is it just called fast intentions? or is there something like intimidator and dominator that ive seen on youtube

Here's my Greddy Exhaust with the Greddy TT tuner kit. I forgot my camera so I had to take the video with crappy cell phone camera.

Headers: Skippit

Fast Intentions Intimidator.

Changing the headers on your car is not as easy as you would think. There is very little room under your hood. This is why a shop will take 5 - 8 hours to complete it. On another note, if you do get the Stillen headers, take them to have them planed before you installed them to ensure a tight seal. I know a lot of people will say you don't but at least have it checked. I have seen this become an issue before.

Also if you ever plan on going FI you will have wasted time and money because they will no longer be needed.

^ +1 the HR already has some pretty nice headers...... (you will see minimal gains at best) your money will be better spent on another mod

Yep, i've been advised to stay away from headers as well. a lot of money and very difficult install for minimal gains.

Well I have the headers so I can speak from personal experience. They do add power but considering the money to gain ratio I don't recommend them. They'll add rasp to your car and heating issues.

I personally would not bother with headers on the HR. But that's just me.

Berk test pipes/hfc with Motordyne exhaust = AMAZING

Just my biased opinion, since we're running that setup on our shop car right now and get compliments all the time on how nice and meaty it sounds.

Hmm seems like a lot of people are saying go motordyne exhaust lately with some motordyne testpipes or berk tp, ill have to check those out

As far as FI, it is a no go for me. With that kind of money right now I was planning on possibly making payment on the 335i coupe or MAYBE an E92 a few years in the future lol. Hopefully. heheh.

Headers, I guess I'll have to reconsider :x
