Default 3.7vhr to 3.5 2005 hi-rev heads

My mechanic is talking to his friends in Japan and they said it can be done.
Going n/a ,bigger injectors, haltech tuned 350whp.I am curious if anyone had
experiance with this application. He also talked of a 12.5 short block 37vhr.

The block will work, the piston design is different so a stock VHR block with its stock piston would not be a good idea with HR heads, I would install the HR pistons as well .

Piston dome design, valve relieve, compression height . They're two complete different chambers designs.

Default Piston height and rod lenght

As long as the pistons are the same height. You have to consider the longer
stroke either the rods or pistons are a different lenght.

Default You could get custom pistons made.

I was thinking custons piston height with the proper combustion cambers as needed to match heads.

Default Is there any 3.7 or 3.8 crankshafts available?

The other way would be to use the crank out of 3.7 and 3.5 block which
is basically the same.

Sam, would using the HR pistons instead bring the compression down to 10.6:1 instead of 11:1?

the title seems a bit missleading , hi-rev is the HR motor 07-08 and 09 convertible 350z. but then in post #2 you wrote "3.7vhr to 3.5 2005 hi-rev heads" those would be heads off of a rev-up motor from 05-06 manual trans Zs. just trying to clear it up so you dont get the wrong information before you start spending money
