Considering Injen Longtube Intakes?...
DO IT!
First of all, the install was a huge pain in the ***, especially for intakes.
Right after I installed mine I was thinking that if I could do it all over again, I wouldn't have bothered. The Z is just so tightly designed up there that there isn't much room to work with, plus Injen's R&D dept. definitely could have done a much better job. That being said, I have a buddy installing his Stillen Gen. 3's as we speak and he's having just as much trouble. Once everything was bolted up and finished, the metal tubes do not hit anything, so I can't really complain. The large rubber intake hoses do crimp some but there is no way around that.
BUT, now that my ECU has relearned my A/F's, all I can say is WOW.
Trust me, get those bitches on! And give them a few days then lay into it and they will surely put a smile on your face.
The car feels a good bit quicker (and I always have a very skeptical and modest "pants seat dyno"), and they sound great too. I can't really hear the intakes per se because I have a fairly loud exhaust, but the motor and entire car just sound much meaner and nicer. It's hard to describe, but it's there. And the power is CERTAINLY there. My buddy, who rides with me often, agrees that the power increase is definitely noticeable.
They claim ~15 whp and I would say that's accurate because that equates to roughly a 150 lb weight reduction. Well you know how your car feels with a passenger in it, compared to just you alone? It's a very noticeable difference, right? Well now even when I have a passenger, my car feels like I'm by myself. Hope that makes sense. And when I'm alone, well, full throttle is almost unusable in the small town I live in lol.
I can't wait to dyno/track! The Z is finally starting to come together.

No, it was a very obvious difference. If you can't feel the difference between being alone and having a passenger in your car then you have issues.
Either way, I'll have a dyno to back it up soon enough. =)
I will say though that I definitely lost some low end tq. That is a more subtle difference than the added power up top, but it does feel more laggy down low. (Now you could argue that this is just in my head since the difference isn't SO noticable
)

I have them too. Install was a PITA. Had cuts all over my fingers from trying to get in between the bumper to loosen the bolts and such.
I could feel a difference in the sound of my exhaust. And there is definitely a gain buttdyno wise after 5000rpm. My dash starts vibrating crazy at around 5k.

HAHA. "Feel the sound". I'm an idiot.
I went thru a few set ups to get rid of some rasp. Even tho there is still some rasp the tone change after the intakes. There was no sound change from the engine like I've heard others claim. But the tone of my exhaust change a bit. Does that make more sense?
