Default "Gravity clutch/flywheel kit" Need info

Has anyone had any experience with this brand kit?

http://www.wcpdiesel.com/transmissio...lutch-kit.html

^^Thats the link

I'm about to pull a trigger on a 2007 350z and it has its clutch and flywheel replaced by this brand and I've personally never heard of it.

Same one, different name, same part number

Reboomping this for some help. Anyone even heard of these?

Owner of the HR Z tells me he does get chatter from it but if you get it from the JWT clutch then I wanna know how bad it really is on this one

Damn ok. Yea I was thinking if I get chatter from a reputable flywheel aka JWT or so, and get chatter, I can only imagine the chatter on a cheaper flywheel will be a little worse. Thanks!

Even the stock clutch/fly setup has a fair amount of chatter. Definitely more than on any other manual I've driven.

Think it may just be Z's? I have an 03 G coupe and theres no noticeable chatter here. Looking at an 07 Z.

Also is the chatter when the clutch pedal is pushed in or when its untouched. Saw a video and showed difference between the 2

The chatter you're referring to occurs when the clutch is engaged. From my readings, some level of chatter is present in any setup you choose, stock or aftermarket. I believe weight of the flywheel plays a factor in the amount of chatter you'll get. The lighter, the more chatter, and JWT is considered on the lighter side. I'd search for a heavier flywheel, if you're in the market. Or just go back to the stock DMF, which has the least amount of chatter.

Sweet just wanted to make sure. And yea I believe it is pretty much dependent on the weight of it. Apparently this one is 17.5 and I believe JWT is 14.5 so I'm hoping its not too bad.

Only reason I ask is because my G coupe might sell soon and am thinking of picking up a used Z which has this aftermarket clutch/flywheel and I had never heard of it. So we'll see how that goes.

Also are there reports where the chatter decreases through use? I guess I'm mainly asking those of you with lightweight flywheels who have had em for I guess 40k+ miles or so. Not a big deal but just a thought.

Thanks!

The only way to reduce the noise is better trans fluid with a lighter flywheel, We stock and use Motul Gear 300 and it keeps them pretty quiet. Big difference over the stock fluid

The rattle in the trans when going to single mass flywheel is caused by the high compression engines in the new cars, The Dual Mass flywheels dampen these "pulses" from the engine and prevent them from being transmitted into the trans.
