Default N/A Power of a HR Z

I've done my fair share of searching on this forum.

I want to know WHP figures of an N/A HR Z with boltons including cams and a tune. When I search I find threads about ridiculous Z's. I want to know if I had an HR Z with bolt ons including cams what I could make at the rear wheels.

The reason is I used to have TT 300ZX. I loved that car but had to get rid of it because of losing a job. I love the 300 but have always loved the 350. I love that is has newer "stuff". From the body lines down to the interior. It's a great car. And I can't decide. Do I wait for another pristine TT 300zx or do I get an HR 350Z.

So what is a reasonable WHP number I can expect. If F/I is the only way to make real power than let me know. But If I can get over 300 whp with boltons I'd like to know.

Thank you in advance for the info.

with cams and a tune on an hr, 310-15whp may be possible.. but most people that say they're gonna do cams, never do.. also, all the money you'd spend after cams, full bolt ons, tune, labor, etc.. you could have just about went f/i more than likely.

Thank you for the response. That's what I wanted to know. Maybe I'll hear more.

Reasonable WHP number to expect? 300+ - But depending on your dyno, boltons and choice of cams.

On an HR I've seen one person (MM'08 - Greddy cams, Stillen Headers, Motordyne TP's + Exhaust I believe) at 320+, but I haven't heard of another cammed HR. It is a long, expensive road, but depending on your needs and what you prefer it might be worth it. I'm at 300.00 (264 cams + boltons) at the moment with plans for PPE LTH's soon, but I'm also a 5AT so figure a higher drivetrain loss.

You make it seem like that's a small amount. Coming from 260whp which is a normal baseline it can be brought up to 310-315whp whith those mods. That's a total of 50-55hp increase or roughly an 18% increase in power. That's enough to make it feel like a beast!

That is pretty substantial, but for roughly the same money, you can have at least 400 whp on very conservative boost. This one is only at 6.5 psi, and makes 443whp. Granted NA power is pretty badass, Id rather get roughly a 60% increase with the same or a little more $$.

Right but for that amount of money I'd rather have 400+ whp boosted Z.

Exhaust:.headers from SFR (high quality) $1500
............ART test pipes $600
............Motordyne shockwave $1600
Cams:...JWT C1s $1000
...........JWT springs $250
Intake:..Nismo $500
Tune:....Osiris $700 or Haltec $2500+ harness or Jumper...
Total: around $6150 + installation and net near 350whp (pushing it)

Turbo kits $7500ish + installation and get up to 500whp until your engine blows up cause you are dumb and got boost happy, turned up the boost and now your stock connecting rod is hanging out the side of the engine!!!

6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other... both ways there is no cheap way to make power!!!

$7500 before the clutch, install, exhaust or a tune so you're still looking at spending 10,000 for everything. Not to mention you can't buy the turbo kit piece by piece

http://www.monsoonmotorsport.com/sto...eaders-vq35hr/

Long tube headers $1100 polished no need for test pipes

http://www.stillen.com/product/exhau...4peee6dn08pni0

Stillen exhaust $1200

Cams $1000

springs $230

nismo intakes $500

Osiris tuner $700

$4730 before install add 1000 for tune and install = 5730 about half the cost of a turbo kit. If we throw the clutch and everything you're at $6730 still 3300 shy of a turbo kit.

No need for $1100 polished headers, get the normal bare metal ones for $900 and save yourself $200 nobody is gonna see them anyway.
Get a used exhaust , $1200 for an exhaust is too much , for me at least lol. Got my nismo s-tune exhaust for $400 in mint condition.
Intakes , you can find injen or stillen long tube cold air intakes for a lot less than $500. Or just spend $100 for k&n drop ins.
Osiris tuner costs $700 but that's assuming one can tune it himself. Better off paying a good tuner $400-$500 for a good tune without you having to buy the cable, unless of course you want to.

point is you can spend near or just as much doing bolt ons and only achieving 300-320whp while you could spend a hair more and achieve mo powa

Question... why is everyone recommending NISMO intakes, everything i've read on this site shows that the K&N filters give the most gain which that right there drops the cost down 450$
