Ok ..... I really need to think about the final gears and weather or not it's for me . I like the fact you can get 70 out of 2nd and over 100 in 3rd . Mine does see to pull pretty good as it is . The problem I have is that pretty much no one in the UK does this mod , so I can't get a ride in one with them .

Regarding the slam panel and brake/ battery covers .... Just got my body shop to spray them for me while the bumper was off ... Pretty easy they told me

At higher rpm ( above 4k ) when on part/light throttle do you get a jerkiness / stutter like symptoms ?

No at that rpm and higher it's steady/smooth. I do get a little jerkiness like in a parking lot (low speed) when barely touching the throttle pedal (light on and off the pedal). It's not a problem, but next time my tuner is in town we will hook it up to his laptop and do some real time driving/tuning. There are some things that he wants to look at in person.

I'm not sure what the recirc valve is, but my sc kit is as it came from Stillen so I'd say that that valve is standard. Thanks!

 

Ever drove a TT car? I know they make a kit for the HR. Debating that or this kit seeing as we don't have many choices

No, I never have. I'd sure like to but just never had the opportunity. Once I decided go FI I thought about going TT (Greddy), but thought that this SC kit would be perfect for what I do with the car without pushing the stock motor's limits with higher hp; not ready to do surgery on it just yet to handle a TT's higher power, etc. With some lightweight stuff that's been done (flywheel, wheels, seats, hood) the thing revs very quickly and pulls hard. I like this v3 kit though; car is very quick and runs like a champ on the open road too.

I've been doing one house project after another and now going to have 4K worth of flooring/5K on plumming done in a couple of weeks; over $20K since Jan. 1st! That could make one fine built TT engine hehe! Good luck with your's and I'd probably say to consider going SC unless you are going to put some $$ into an engine build for a potent TT.

I may have got them off of ebay; just now I typed on ebay "350z carbon fiber door switch cover for 06-08 Nissan 350z z33" is what it showed on their site. It looks like the switch covers+barrel covers that I got; gel coated and about $149. The pics look like this may be it; scrolling down the page it says Evo-R brand. I'll say it again, I'm impressed with the way mine turned out and so nice to have a hard shell where it was scratched up on that soft crap material that they used on the Zs! You should pick these up. Be sure to post up pics of the new hood!

I haven't done anything new for a while, just maintaining it. I will get some tires on it but I'll try to stretch that out until Spring. Need to get it out for some pics; maybe some vid.

 

Yah I am saving up for my build so I can buy everything at once and get it done. Can't wait to see whats next.

I'll have to get some pics of it. I haven't done anything new, been doing some house projects that are draining $$! My wheel sizes are shown on my sig.; tires are 265/35/18 fronts, 285/35/18 rears. My wheels cleared the Akebonos, it's close but didn't have any issues; I already had my wheels on the car before I got the BBKs, then printed off a template, made it into a cardboard one and took off a front wheel to check for clearance before I ordered. You will like the Enkei wheels!

At this level, modifying your car shouldn't be a priority... you're pretty much done IMO. From what I've seen over the years, members at this level tend to sell/part their cars and move on to something new.

I'm going to be looking into a new set of tires for my 18" wheels (F- 9.5", R- 10.5") and I was wondering if some of you guys know specifics on some overall mounted heights.

I've got 285/35s on my rears and I like the 285s no doubt; there is about a half of index finger (approx. 1/4") of "gap" when tread is new (full finger now) and I wondered if I went to a 275/40 on the rears if I could get away with that?

With 275s there would be a slight "bevel"; angle in which is fine with me, plus I could get the extra 5mm of height right? I'd probably stay with 285/35 unless some of you may have good options for me to consider.

I don't want to lower the rear any more; it's as far as the Bilsteins can go and that is pretty low underneath as is. * I really like the setup that's on the car (F- 265/35, R- 285/35) now, but was thinking about "if" going to a 275/40 could work fine and possibly fill in a bit of gap at the same time. I believe raising your tire ratio to 40 series will not compensate your wheel gap... you must go lower. Keep in mind you have 18" wheels too so you will more than likely still have wheel gap even when you up the ratio size and drop some more.

I'm on 19's wheels with 35 series and I'm tucking a little on max drop with the same coils. IMO, if you do not want wheel gap, switch to 19's but that's through my personal experience, not concrete evidence.

Common misconception is that putting a taller tire on the car will reduce gap. Yes, a little, but it also raises the car up so it's a tradeoff.... hunkered down low and sleek or be-like-Jeep, take your choice.
