Default Signs of worn out oem clutch?

I wanted to post this to see if any of you who have replaced/upgraded your clutch have experienced this new issue that I recently noticed.

My car is an '07, approx. 43K miles, supercharged about 5 months ago. The oem clutch has been fine thusfar and I wanted to get as much out of it as I can until I do an upgraded clutch/flywheel combo.

Here is recent issue that I have noticed: Shifting into higher gears (4,5,6) at higher speeds I now am getting slight "grind", like you might if pedal not depressed enough, it does this especially under load, high rpms; not if I am freeway speeds and casually shifting. This grinding doesn't happen around town so far even when romping on car in lower gears. Have any of you had similar early notice that your clutch is reaching it's end? I appreciate any input/advice. Like I mentioned, I plan on the new combo, just was hoping for later date.

Try flushing the clutch fluid first.

Thanks, I can give that a shot. Could it be a possible fluid issue even if pedal feels stiff as new?

Possibly. That's the issue with GM GenIV with T56/TR6060 using internal clutch slave.

if/when the slave starts going bad, the pedal will start sticking down and either stay down or slowly come back up

I'll give it a try; would I just keep acel. pedal in the same position it's in when clutch pedal is depressed? Also, what would I be expecting/looking for, steady rpm # hopefully?

No it's not slipping so far; I've done hard accel. recently and it holds fine (tc off). The rpms rise according to car speed and feels like it did new, but I know that it's a matter of time for the stock clutch. * Have done the same type of thing on open road; dropping into 4th and full accel. into 6th, etc.

Hmm, I bought my car used with 21k and learned how to drive stick for the first time. The clutch slipped when shifting at WOT.. Shifting from 3rd to 4th and the RPMs would kind of glide into gear.

It could have been bad fluid / stock line expanding due to heat, ect.

Probably not a good example, but here is a video of what it would do at WOT.

You can kind of hear the shift lag in the video.

I'll see if I can dig up the old clutch and take a pic of it's condition.
